  1. Name: Citroen C5 (2001) Date Added: 26 August 2015 - 01:02 PM Owner: rickhough Short Description: Bought a decade ago and still giving sterling service my 2001 C5 has a 2.0 HDi engine (8 valve, non-FAP, non-DPF) and show no sign of dying just yet. Still running the original clutch and head gasket the car has had no major replacements. I have a Lexia equipped laptop which has been a great help in diagnosing electrical funnies and resetting the sunroof and radio. MOT time usually yields one or two blown bulbs, a CV gaiter or rusty pipe, but covering 20k miles a year this is to be expected from my mighty work horse! The Citroen shares drive space with a Peugeot 407 Coupe and a 1972 MG Midget, and in total we have owned 60 cars in 40 years. View Vehicle
  2. My 2001 2.0 HDi has done 238k miles and always gives the Anti Pollution (AP) fault message and EML lit after every oil change. A quick check on Lexia shows no fault codes and after around 20 stop and start cycles with 20 miles of driving in limp home mode (3k max revs) the ECU sorts itself out and the AP fault clears. I can only assume that initial start up with fresh oil confuses a sensor somewhere, maybe initial oil pressure or something - but it is very odd that Lexia doesn't report any error codes. This has been the case for nearly ten years of ownership and I've done about 150k of the 238k miles in that time with an annual oil change.
  3. On my 2001 2.0 HDi I had this intermittently. I eventually tracked it down to two sensor wires at the front of the engine. They had rubbed together over the years and were touching bare wires - shorting the system and sending duff data to the ECU. Five minutes with a soldering iron and insulating tape and the problem was solved for nothing.
