the last owner lost the plip remote so just one key to do all the work over the last 4-5 days all the info i have found points towards each plip having a code on the circuit board like this  73373067c the manual has a simple step to re-cync the fob (this is not for the immo chip)

next has anyone more insight into this as citroen will not help just want £150 for a new fob and thats not going to happen

or will i have to go as far as a nexia diagnostics to get around all the problems many have like this

last is the info i have found so far correct as this is a learning curve i had the exact same problem with my renault and honda both in the end was cheaper to buy the correct diagnostics tool for the car

I have a quick question.  Does the C1 petrol (Toyota VVTi 1 litre) engine's coolant drain plug use a sealing washer ?

Like most cars, it's supposed to turn off when the key is taken out, but it's stopped doing that and I have to male sure it's turned off every time I leave the car and I'm also worried it could drain my battery as it's on all night.

I've only had the car for 5 months and this has happened a few times now and often sorts itself out. However, this time it still won't turn off. 

I had a black box for my insurance fitted in a few months ago and I never had this problem before. I have an engineer from the insurance company coming out to check it but it's costing me a fair amount of money and if it's not their fault, it'll cost me more to get it fixed.

I just wanted to ask if this is a common problem on C1s and whether it can be fixed easily?

In the hot weather recently I decided to switch it on and nothing happened - the light on the switch comes on, but nothing else happens.  I've just been to the dealer and they've quoted me €50 to diagnose the problem €130 to refill the system plus whatever it costs to fix the problem on top - considering I only use it once or twice a year, that's money down the drain  :o

Anybody have any suggestions what I could do myself before completely giving up on getting it fixed?  Lisa (Brit in NL)  :wub:

I've got a 2013 Citroen C1 and since day one there has been a knocking noise that comes every time I change gear. I was told this is normal so have learned to put up with this. The issue I have now, however, is that a similar knocking noise occurs whenever I switch the air conditioning on. It only does it as the air con kicks in but doesn't continue while it is on. Any ideas of what it might be?

Went to the dealer yesterday, mine is the second one in two weeks (both 07 plates) he has seen with this prob. He reckons the cables have stretched. Personally I think the cables have come adrift. Once set we never moved the mirrors.

He has ordered a new mirror. Should be here next week. Warranty job.

Is this a bad batch ? Anyone else had the same issue ?

having small problem with these at the front ,had to remove them and paint them black again(inc bolts),i have had previous problems with water leaking in leaving white powder at the footwell section under the plastic heel guard ,dont know why it would come through the plastic "strange"

can anyone help ,sometimes my car drives without me touching the gas ,just put it into 5th it has a mind of its own,goes about 30 mph not any faster,funny the pedal isn't sticking down or anything.the engine idle is fine.

Ive checked with dignostics kit to find I have code p0403 reading

This is Exhaust gas recirculation circuit malfunction.

Problem with car is lack of initial acceleration. Have anyone suffered with the same symtoms before.

Bought a new one today at Citroen parts and it was £20.11 pence, yes, twenty pounds !

But it is the whole blade assembly, ie, metal holder 25.5 inches with rubber blade.

Why a genuine part you ask, well I had previously bought wiper blades assembles from Halfords for my previous car and although they are cheaper, they use a much harder silicon rubber which tend to squeak a lot.

Now for the fitting....

when you lift the arm of the front wiper blade assembly, you find the pentagraph arm (the extra arm that controls the sweep) stops the whole blade being lifted more than four inches above the glass.

Most blade fitting on cars requires you to lift the blade assembly ninty degrees to remove, so how do you fit the blade ?

I did it the easy way, I asked the parts guy if he would fit it for me :D

And well done to Citroen parts department, he fitted it in seconds.

All you do is lift the arm slightly and unclip the blade assembly, pull back and out,

Installing the new blade is similar, just clips straight in, with no need to lift the blade very much.

Or better still do what I did, and just get Citroen to fit it :unsure:

I decided to contact Citroen and because I already had the brake and clutch repairs done they were not prepared to help me and suggested that I take the car to a Citoen dealer to have them look at the lock, if it is deemed to be a factory fault they will look in to it! the local dealer wants £30.00 just to check the lock!

I just wanted to warn people not to have the work done before complaining but it may be worth complaining anyway to highlight similar faults.

It really has put me off having another C1 and would find it hard to recommend one to anyone I know which is a pity.
