Drive Shaft Oil Seal

Local dealer not helpful, just says we don't do them any more.

Power Steering/heaters/rear Window De Mist

Hi there, the power steering along with the heaters and the rear demister Have all packed up, I have checked all of the fuses and relays have been checked, the ignition barrel fix has already been done by the previous owner so I'm really stuck on this one now, the battery charge light is also on so not sure where to go from here really. Any help and advice anyone can give would be very much appreciated. (btw it's a 2001 5 door 1.1 desire if it helps)

Saxo Vtr Clutch Cable

Morning ! My clutch cable has snapped on my 2000 year Saxo VTR, how hard is is to change this ?

If I remove the lower cowling under the steering wheel will I be able to access the top of the clutch pedal to attach the new cable ?

Hi i run c5s as taxis but have bought no 1 son a saxo 1.1 as his first car 2002 desire model. Anyway just a quick question when the key fob/imobiliser is used to unlock/lock the doors should the indicators be flashing on the model

Programming Remote Fob When Car Is Delocked!

somebody i know has just bought a Y reg Saxo which has been delocked by pevious owner. It came with 2 transponder keys & 2 citroen remote fobs. They've changed the battery in 1 of the fobs as it wasn't working & they want to get the other fob repaired as the buttons are playing up.

The problem they have is that from what we've read to syncronise a fob to the car you have to unlock manually with the key. The car is delocked so this is a bit of a problem.

Anybody come across this before & know if there's anything that can be done with refitting locks onto the car? which they haven't got!

Car Wont Start

Hi All,

I have a Citroen Saxo 1997 SX model 1.1. She's been through the wars a bit with a new head gasket and other repairs over the years but recently she has failed to start. Last week it was taking longer and longer to start until one day it would not start at all. It does try to start but having someone look at the plugs while doing so, I am told it does not generate a spark.

I am told it's possible that it's electrical, possibly the ECG?

Any advice on how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

For MOTs that is. Took the first of my four for a test this morning. The Saxo. It got through with an advisory for a weak handbrake. Not surprising - the rear drums haven't been off yet. The 306 got a similar advisory last year so new wheel pistons and shoes need to go on during the next two weeks.

Hi. I have recently had an MOT of which the car failed due to high emmisions. Although the exhaust is 11 months old the guy said the engine was not breathing and burning oil. The car has only done 75ooo mls could it possible that the rings have gone or could it be something else. All help appreciated before I get rid of it. It is T reg and a Citroen Saxo Eastcoast model. Anyone any ideas on why there is a rattling noise when clutch pedal pushed down. It does not do it when not in gear and the gears are sticking. Any help much appreciated.

Airbag Light

So my airbag light is permanently on, and I read that it is probably because of the connectors under the seats for the seatbelt pretensioners?

I found the big orange sheathed wires for this and the connectors in the fiddliest place possible, so I'm happy to try and re-connect these and check their connections, but, will I need to reset the airbag light? and if so, can I do this without taking the Saxo to my local garage who will charge me an arm and a leg for the pleasure?

Saxo Steering Noise

I have a little 97 Saxo and it has just passed the MOT 2 months ago. Anyway since then it seems that whenever i go around a corner (left or right) or over an uneven road surface i here a rattle noise. i have looked beneath the vechile but cannot find anything loose .

Can anyone offer up any oggestions as to what it may be .

If the bad weather has been getting you down, my blond question will lift your spirits!

I think the water indicator has appeared on my saxo dash about 1 hour ago, it looks like the gauge marker you see in a reservoir, A upright line with graduated bars and a wavey line at the bottom.

Now if this means I need water in the system, please would some one advise me as to what type of water I need to buy, and does it go into the rad which I think is the large unit at the front of the engine cavity?

Hi all

Just reaching out for some advice as to whether anyone has some suggestions as to why this light comes on after about 30 mins of idle running?

I slipped up and allowed the rad to get develope a leak due to the adverse weather ( Fixed now ) but now the light comes on after approx 30 mins even though the fan kicks in and engine isn't that hot.

Appreciate your time especially if you've got experience of this,

Heater & Rear Heated Screen

help help help!!! my heater is not working my 99T saxo eastcoast the box is warm under the dash but is not blowing. iv tried a volt meter at the switch and theres no power getting there. also my rear heated screen has no pwer too but it lights up very dim on the switch. iv checked the all the fuses as iv not got a owners book and the fuse panel does not show any which fuse is which. everything else works on the centre console, cig lighter and hazard lights. someone plese help. cheers

Door Will Not Unlock

Well, here's a fun thing! Working on my daughter's Saxo 1.5 V reg 1999 diesel and the nearside rear door will not unlock. I have managed to get the interior door panel off and messed about as much as I can - all rods still attached, controls move when key operates central locking mechanism BUT IT IS FIRMLY LOCKED. Tried taking out the electrical connector. No change. Any ideas PLEASE??

Cooling Fan Not Comin On

I took my '99 Westcoast in for a new front pipe & engine service. I discovered when stucknin a jam on the M6 that the cooling fan wasn't coming on. Any ideas?

I was working fine the night before the work was done.

Saxo Auto Gearbox

Folks,

I have a 1.6i auto , recently changed the gearbox oil & now the gearchange has become really erratic.

When accelerating it is slow for a start with high revs from standing take off and it takes off with a vibration that wasn't there before, it seems to hold onto the revs for too long when accelerating at speed, in other words it revs very high before kicking down to overtake

Any help appreciated ?

Cooling Fan Problem

Hello all!!.

My 99 Saxo 1.4 (automatic) has a baffling cooling fan problem, it never comes on at all. In spite of warnings about boiling in traffic it's never done this. It runs fine, never pinks or smells, I've replaced the rad switch 3 times and tested the socket with an ammeter which ran the fan (about 9 amps).The socket pins are good so I remain baffled. The thermostat is new too, and the heater is fine.

Why am I worrying you ask? The MOT man said it boiled over for him, so I've missed something. The last switch was from a Citroen dealer and cost the earth, well £22, and still no fan.

Unfortunately saxos are quite rare now so I've not heard any other fan go on.

I have a saxo 1.1 x reg 2000

The radiator light is on and fan comes on even when cold, and wont go off till i disconect battery !!

Anyone know what this could be ?

Saxo Vtr/vts Rear Exhaust

Hello again ! I seem to be having problems getting hold of a replacement rear exhaust box for my saxo. Ideally i want one that is identical to my OE box with the same rear tailpipe design. I dont really want to go to the main stealers but the GSF/EURO parts equivalent looks quite pants especially the tail pipe design :o

And no I dont want one with a 5" tailpipe :unsure:
