Hello and welcome to the forum. We need a few xantia owners on here as there a very reliable car. Why dont you cut the the old boot of and replace it with a stretch boot which does away with having to remove the cv joint. The boot and cone to put them on with can be bought from any motorist shop for less than £20

The following is just what i think and i have nothing to back it up with. the c5 has a adaptive drive cycle where the ecu learns your driving style and alters/adjusts things to suit your driving style and legal emmisions. so for the last few months your car has done mostly town driving at english temperatures using english fuel. then you put a caravan on the back and head of down the motorway.to hotter climates which is totally alien to what the ecu has learnt. we o.ften get this on the taxis where they spend months round the town then go off down the country and the management light comes on, Now remember we have experience also free labour and a abundence of spare parts and we can never find out what puts the light on. what we have done in the past is before a car heads of on a long distance ( i regulary take one to spijkenesse in holland) we do a bsi reset and the car then learns the driving style on the motorway and dosnt put the light on but what it does do is when the car is back to work round the town it then puts the engine light on and again theres no faults to find. this happens on whatever c5 i take. Like i say i have nothing to back this up with at all just a opinion

owner of a local buisness i was talking to had a prius and the waranty for the battery was subject to regular dealer servicing and electrical check on the battery. So youl need to factor that in. think you would be better off just getting a c3 4 or 5 then theres no worry about the battery. Also knowing present and past governments there will be a squad of people sitting in a room as we speak trying to figure out how to put a tax on electric cars

Just order a spare plimp key from the dealers but tell them you dont want it coded( thats the bulk of the cost) then just swap the guts from yours into the new one

hello and welcome. c5s are great cars do as paul says and stick to the oil changes
-
Hi what readings was the egr valve giving of. also if you crank the engine over 3 x 5 seconds youl get the fault codes back. but for non starters you have to go into live data. cant help thinking that its fuel related br=ecause youve had the fuel filter of and a problem with the spill return pipes so check your fuel rail pressure in live data you want at least 250 bar when cranking engine over.

	What area are you in

They say the autobox is sealed for life but this is not the case. take it to the dealers and get the oil change once a year as its not really a diy job and the dealers dont charge that much for it

C5 Door Switch, battery Dis/reconnectcoastline taxis replied to ivorcitroen's topic in C5 - Technical Did you check the earths for the other faults that youve got listed. as the car has told you that its a voltage/charging issue and if the bsi isnt getting its proper voltage then youl be on till doomsday looking for faults that arnt there. Also your car has the can bus system have you fitted anything recently stereo/phone/ipod etc etc.

Citroen C3 Pluriel Covertable Problemscoastline taxis replied to colson's topic in Pluriel - Technical Sounds like a microswitch problem, But in order to make anykind of headway with it your going to have to get it put on a diagnostic machine

theres 2 belts for the relay and both will fit. One is a bit bigger (about 20mm) and as such will have less tension on it so you can either get the right belt or just use the eccentric pully to take the slack up. i think the diference is aircon and none aircon

The car is telling you whats wrong your dpf filter is blocked. Take it to any dealer or indy and they will sort it for you but dont expect it to be cheap. If you have any mechanical knowledge you could try doing it yourself and the members of this will help you through it

By what youve said in your last post your not following the battery disconection procedure correctly its listed in this section under bsi reset procedure try that before going any further
-
ha ha yes it states quite clearly thats its a 2 litre and i never even noticed it. Anyway give theese a try had a few of them and there ok 01604666713 car parts giant. the last one we got for a 2009 model came back at £80 all in

put your hand on the sphere and get someone to switch the engine off and youl soon no if its the sphere. theres a metal plate inside of the sphere that had come loose ( thats what we thought ) we were going to open it up with a grinder to see but to be honest we just wernt sure wether it retained any pressure when it was off the car so it was left alone and replaced with a new one and no more noise

Engine Problems/ Sudden Rev Drop / Then Increasecoastline taxis replied to Peter Burt's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5 can you produce the fault or is it just at random. As you realy need to get into the live data on a scanner and see what the engine is doing when the fault happens. And dont be quick to rule the ingectors out as one of them might be sticking once in a while. try doing a leak of test. also is the smell plastic/oil/gas or diesel
-
Have come across this once before 2010 model and it turned out to be the inside of the sphere vibrating
-
What size engine do you have as there is a difference
