Try cleaning the throttle stepper motor with carb cleaner which is located with the throttle housing by a couple of screws. I had a similar problem with my zx 1.4 and after cleaning said part (which is attached to an electrical socket and after pulling out is of a bullet type shape!) cured the problem! If not sure which component to remove try removing and cleaning any parts that are easily removable. Hope this helps! Simon PS! I had a xantia and it was the best car iv,e ever driven! Hi All! The brake lights on my ZX 1.4 petrol 1997 have decided to stop working! I have checked the bulbs and both are ok, i have also checked out the switch, not sure if it,s faulty. I have also tried shorting the switch connectors with ignition on and still no brake lights? Is there a fuse? Is there a relay? I,m baffled :unsure: Any help would be appreciated.
