Citroeneddie Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Have been with Citroen Insurance for 5 years now and they want £310 to renew when Churchill quote £275 like for like. Citroen don't price match and I even offered to split the difference to save the hassle, but they couldn't budge. Shame. 17 Quote

It will be underwritten by one of the big insurance companies with Citroen taking some of the money. Quote
stimulator Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 so why are you staying loyal to them? If the deal is the same for same then move. There is no hassle, the new company will most likely take the deal over the net. Swift sure who I moved to only required my renewal notice from the last company to honour the NCB. Saved money like you will. believe me they don´t care about loyality these days and you get no deals from them if you wish to stay. It´s your money keep it. Quote
zippy Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I`ve just got a quote from Citroen Insurance and they were double what I`m paying just now with Bell Direct. Zip Quote

kfk Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 The thing with insurance is everyone is different, for my own vehicle i pay £480 fully comp....it covers uninsured loss, courtesy car, unnamed additional drivers and hire car while being repaired or in for service. However, i can purchase cheaper from the same company....the premium just for me, fully comp with same benefits but excluding other drivers is £230. Alternatively i can shop around and get no frills fully comp, no courtesy car, no additional drivers and no uninsured loss for £140. Quote
03owner Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I try every year to reduce ours and never manage to lower it by more than about £10 per year. We are with AA, £308 in my husband's name with me as named driver. full protected no claims, fully comp, legal cover, courtesy car etc. I found loads of price comparison sites that claimed to offer it for £200-ish but once I added no claims protection, legal cover etc, it was almost the same, and better the devil you know ... Rob.S Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Fortis............ Hmmm, worth a look Keith. Ah, just found out that their local agent is the one that totally ****** me on my Renault 11 Turbo many years ago. Paid the premium, two weeks later had a letter saying they had underquoted, and wanted some more cash - the same amount again, in fact. Vowed never to darken their door again. Quote

chriskross Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Hi insured with Fortis the other day £184 including legal expenses. Are there any on-line Fortis brokers, or does it have to be via local agent? FYI, decided to renew with Citroen Insurance this time: £203, but without legal cover, and opted out of protected NCD (5+ years). c.f. Frizzell's £253 (with those inclusions). As I'm probably going to buy a new C4P soon, I thought I'd keep the price low. I can decide what options to include when I get the new car. I spoke to Citroen Insurance yesterday, and they said that an LHD would cost me £215. I'm haggling with a Belgian dealer, who's so far offering a €4 100 discount on an Exclusive. Quote

Morris Man Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I got mine through local broker but you can go to Fortis online and get a free quote. As someone who has numerous vehicles, one of which is commercial, can I say a word re. insurance. Keep away from the Direct companies. Get with a good broker. This is someone who relies on you. So, then you can rely on them..... When you get a difficult claim the direct and online companies suddenly are, or can be awkward. Not exactly dilligent in recovering uninsured losses etc. I shudder to think what will happen to some of the folk who will be claiming because of the recent floods. Everybody boasts about how cheap they have got a premium for, but they don't boast about the crap service they end up having. Morris Man. Quote
caramac55 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Keep away from the Direct companies. Get with a good broker. This is someone who relies on you. So, then you can rely on them Well I'm with direct line, £190 fully comp, for 1.8 sx, inc legal expenses etc, myself and wife to drive. Her renewel for her Suzuki swift was £320 from the AA, got a quote from direct line....£195 (same cover). we have both had claims from them in the past and there service was second to none. they collected damaged car, left a hire car, repaired our car within a fortnight and delivered it back fully valeted. What more can you possibly want. Go to a broker if you wish, but remember that the broker has to make his living as well as the insurance company, and your paying for that. just go online check the various companys, but remeber to check whats covered and compare like for like. For me no-one could touch direct line, churchil were the nearest, but there excess was £100 more. as for brokers like the AA...no thanks. Quote

drakes Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I did the usual thing of trawling the internet for best deals last year for my Pic and was surprised that several companies offered different quotes, were if fact 'overseen' the same large insurance company. Went with Esure in the end. Dave Quote

JoeBlunt Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 You cannot really compare insurance premiums with other people as theres sooooooo many things that is taken into consideration, as stated the Post Code is the main thing, Age ect........ Best to compare all Insurers with the same details (i.e. Yours) that way you should get whats best for You http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif Quote
