I smoked for 18 years before and I gave up smoking, 6 years ago, I was going through 20 a day, then I just stopped smoking myself, went from 20 to nil, a straight stop, no patches or anything, just went through a lot of coffee, but I have cut that down, and for some reason my weight has stayed the same as it was before, no weight gains at all, Still 11 1/2 stone and I am 6 foot 5 inches tall, so I am slightly under weight for my height, but have been that way all my life.

I gave up in november 2014, I didnt particularly want to but the cost, even bringing them back from the holidays, was getting rediculous, as was the stupid laws for where you can and cant smoke [ which I am convinced aided the end of the pub], anyway I got back home without a refreshed supply. smoked what I had left, gave away my remaining papers, filters & lighters, I did give the E cig a try but found it unsatisfying and unrealistic, gave that up straight away, and went cold turkey I never expected it to be easy, but it was, very easy, 50 odd years habit gone. It is now 9 months on and still no desire to restart, actually detest walking past smokers now.
