Hi all, I joined this forum a while ago and did not introduce myself at the time because I was able to find the answers to all my questions without needing to post.
Having just received the email from Glen regarding the site overhaul, I decided to take another look. I couldn't understand why I couldn't see or edit my profile etc. until I accidentally stumbled across this thread.
Might I suggest to mods/admin that the Topic heading "New Member Introductions" should be changed to "New Members Should Read This First".
Perhaps this currently stickied post should should be locked and be de-cluttered to simply contain the explanation for the site restrictions followed by a big bold direct link to the New Members Introduction thread.
As a moderator on another forum, I had to introduce something very similar to this to reduce the huge amount of spam that I constantly had to remove on a daily basis.

Now here comes my introduction, I have previously worked as a Citroen mechanic/Service Manager for over 20 years and have been a Citroen owner for the last 30 years. I currently have a W reg C15D van and the better half now has a 2003 Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDI Desire, which is more economical and nicer to drive than my van, apart from the annoying indicator stalk problem that causes the lights to intermittently turn themselves on, and the windscreen pillars obstructing the view of the road on tight bends.

Keep up the good work with this forum.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum having just purchased a C3 Picasso 110HDi Exclusive.

Love it so far. Bit nervous given the reputation of Citroen electrics but we'll see.

If all goes well, I'll be keeping this one for some time.

I've just acquired an '01 Xsara Picasso 1.8 SX in Wicked Red after the demise of my Skoda Felicia. The Pic needs a thoroughly good clean inside and out but seems a genuine car and came with a full history log - main dealer for first six years, independents thereafter. 96k miles and it's my daily commute car. Having said that, I did once buy a Scenic brand new, hateful thing but my wife loved the driving position etc. Me, I wished I'd waited a year for the Picassos to appear, always preferred them so now I've got the opportunity to compare reliability etc. Really bought this as this time I needed something my wife could drive as well but I foresee that she will soon start asking if maybe she can take the Picasso for the day as she needs to get some shopping or something similar. Only had the car a day and not had much of a chance to do anything with it yet. Other than that, I'm in North Kent on the Thames Riviera and I'm a bit of an old git! - or middle aged maybe, depends on your definition. Edited by djl56

Hi everyone.

Never had a Citroen before, let alone another Pic, will be picking up my 03 plate 1.6 desire on Saturday.

Had a Fiat for the last 7 years and its basically dying, its just gotta make it to Sat as its the trade in lol.

Decided to avoid another Italian car as the spares market for them is just a joke, the few breakers there are charge a fortune and new spares are ridiculous in cost and time of delivery, so decided to go with a different brand.

We were looking at a Focus, but decided to go for the Picasso as the extra cabin space seemed to make sense with 2 small kids.

Looking forward to getting behind the wheel Saturday

Hopefully all will be well :)

Hello All,

Just aquired a 1.8 petrol Pic.

Bought it to ferry some australian visitors about in reasonable comfort.

Car's mostly very tidy just needs a bit of paint touching up - which is why I joined the forum.

Will someone please help me with the paint codes - the rear of the fuse cover reveals nothing and there's nothing on the door pillars.

I've seen some posts on here with the same problem.

Very impressed so far - haven't had to part with any cash!

Greetings to all!

I'm Andy (B.A to my mates) and I'm a HGV driver from Bolton. I've just bought my 2nd Picasso (by order of the wife haha).

So I found her a 2002 02 2litre Hdi Exclusive in metallic grey with the panoramic roof. Finally got me some brownie points, she loves it.

She has now took the keys off me and I can only go near it when...........................it wants fuel, oil or water checking or washing haha

Hi

Just purchased a 2003 picasso 2.0 hdi going to do maintenace myself so will be trauling this site for usefull information.

General service is my first task then end of next month i will tackle the cambelt.

Must admit im enjoying driving it especialy when my other car which used to be a daily driver was a Celica GT4. Petrol costs were killing me and buy buying the picasso i will in the long run be better off and still be able to keep the other car as a weekend / track car.

The kids love the extra room and the wifes stopped nagging :)

Hi folks. I've had my'07 1.6 HDi for just over a year now and I love it. Use it for private hire and it averages around 55mpg around town. It'll happily tow my little two berth caravan (44mpg if I tuck in behind aHGV!) and I love it!!!
