Hi All,

I used to own a xsara picasso a few years ago, and now while looking around at DIY camper van conversions, I'm starting to wonder.

Would it be possible to convert a xsara picasso into a camper van for 1 or 2 people ?

I'm thinking

* fit a rotating seat base for the drivers seat.

* remove the back seats.

* fit a mini kitchen set on the passenger side, for cooker, and sink bowl, and a couple of small cupboards.

* replace/modify the drivers side rear seat so it a) slides much further back, and b) folds down flat for a single bed.

* A fold out small table fitting between the (reversed) drivers seat and drivers-side rear seat.

* maybe even rig some slide out bit for a wider bed for the other half if I can ever persuade her to try it.

The idea would be the kitchen unit would just fasten onto the fixing points for the rear seats, so could be taken out, and the original seats fitted back.

Has anyone heard of anything like this done before ?

Am I mad, or a good idea worth following up ?

Thanks.

Hi

Go for it, do not see why, if your confident to install the bits and bobs, they are quite roomy.

You could use a boot type or drive away awning to increase your space.

I do a lot of single overnights in my C3 Picasso, which is considerably smaller, and I consider it a lot more comfortable and convenient than a tent.
