Gteuk Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Just a question out of curiosity more than anything else I use ad blockers on the likes of youtube as it is annoying when you are playing a play list and you get adverts. I have noticed over the years though a decline in impressions of adverts on this site although other than the recent glitch with the site the amount of page views are consistent. I suppose the only reason I ask is I wonder if google is miss reporting or there is a link with ad blockers which I am sure there is. Quote
discv Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Hands up- I use Ad Blocker Plus. Does not apply to this site so much- but others are a nightmare without it. Quote
stimulator Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I use Ad blocker plus. It stops a lot of crap bothering me Quote
gray Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) Been using AdBlocker Plus too, since I read this thread last year:http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/index.php/topic/23378-ad-blocker-question/?hl=blocker Edit: I've just whitelisted this domain, and the Ads aren't too bad, apart from Amazon trying to sell me stuff I have already bought ! :) (*Thanks Cookies) Edited April 18, 2016 by gray Quote
Gteuk Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 This site used to depend on advertising revenues,, I can understand not wanting to see them but I do try not to splatter then all over the place.I have added a new amazon one on the main forum side bar and asked it to show citroen Picasso relevant items.I use chrome and adblocker plus on youtube as I said I like my music to be uninterrupted. Ozzie Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Internet Explorer adblock plus - easylist tracking protection is blocking 6 services on the site at the moment not using the new Edge browser because of it's lack of support for addons including ad blockers. Quote
Gteuk Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 EDGE !!! EDGE!!! OMG do not mention that browser on this forum or I will ban you :P 1 Quote
Ozzie Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 EDGE !!! EDGE !! EDGE !!! EDGE !! EDGE !!! EDGE !! EDGE !!! EDGE !!nice knowing you all , bye :) :) :) Quote
gray Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 A little known fact (to me anyway) is that Win 10 still has IE11 built in, including Edge too. I can't update my Satnav - Garmin - on Chrome or Firefox - Edge doesn't work either, so I finally found on a Forum that IE11 will work, and it does ! :) It seems quite well hidden away though. Quote
Ozzie Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Edge has an option in the ' more' menu ( far right , 3 dots ) ' open in internet explorer ' It's quite good at opening pdf files but as a browser to say it needs still needs a little work is an understatement. and as for the new Mail program and it's intermittent notifications .... I've given up with it . Quote
