Mike5483 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Well how did you do that??? That was very brave to cut the headrests about. How did you get the cables up there??? Quote
dave&trace Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 not as brave as you may think screens came in the headrests with wires down stems. The bravest part was odering from Hongkong[had no problems ] Quote
Mike5483 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Ah, thats it then, very good!!! Is the leather a good match??? It looks good. Quote
dave&trace Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 can`t believe how well made, and how well they match in with original seats. Also TFT picture is as good as front screen if not better.plus when it is time to sell we can just put back orginal headrests. Quote
Mike5483 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Im gonna ask loads of Q's here, cause its something I may be interested in doing once I have sorted the front end out. How do you get the cables down through the seat? How do you connect it up to the existing screen, just splice into the loom??? Actually, thats it, thats not loads of Q's at all!!! Quote
dave&trace Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 Cables drop through one of head rest holes and seat backs just pull off with a bit of a tug.Carpet under seats has cut outs for pretensioner/airbag/lane departure if fitted wires to come through. You can use this to thread wires under carpet coming out under rear seat base.Video feeds are on AV cables and fed from DVD player Audio is fed into AV connector in glove box [so sound comes through car speakers, too fast too furious sounds great]Power can be got from perminent 40 amp tow bar feed left handside of boot Needs connecting in glove box and 40amp fuse fitting under bonet.Depending on model and options if JBL is fitted this wire is already live. Then step it down to 3amp any problems just ask  Quote
dave&trace Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 head rest with built in screens on ebay around £100 for 2DVD player we already had it came from motor world last yearused 2 triple av cables 1 av 2 into 1 connector from maplin about £10 total.12 volt wire and fuse blocks connectors we already had.
