Bassrock Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Ok, Here we go:- As no doubt many will be aware the C5, and many others do have an OBD (on board diagnostic) connector fitted. Its what the the garages plug your car into in order to help them diagnose all those faults on your car and charge £60 or so quid for the pleasure. However, all petrol cars after 2001 and all diesels after 2004 should be compliant. Which makes my car not quite fully compliant as per ... I've been able to download data from the Bosch EDC15CS ECU, and decode that into MAPS, but still need data to figure out what each of the MAPS represent, anyway side issue. What I'm getting at here is, has anyone been able to successfully read OBD fault data or live car data from a C5 Diesel Hdi 2001, as I think Citroen have added a few codes of their own, in order us punters can't access the data. Stuart js Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Hi, before you get your hope up no I do not have the codes you require. Not sure which type of onboard computer display you have on your car but I have the colour screen version. If I access the 'computer screen' I have an option of onboard diagnostics, my car has to stationary with the handbrake on and out of gear. It actually gives descriptions not codes. I found this after I had bought an OBD connector and software only to find out mine is the wrong end of 2004 However, I too would appriciate the ifo if anyone as it TTFNStu Quote
Bassrock Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Stuart, Yep, screen diagnostics you speak of are the standard codes as per your manufacturers handbook e.g fill up screen water, brake pad wear, ABS fault, low oil etc.. these are all displayed on screen as and when they fail. Its the ECU onboard diagnostics I'm interested in, I narrowed protocol to KWP2000 (pin out on OBD connector determines that one, but any KWP2000 device I've tried don't appear to work, so must be a protocol -3, -2 or -1 etc or somewhere in between. If you get any further let me know. Cheers Bassrock Quote
