Just done my 2 front drop links today so I thought I would bump this old thread up..With a how to..

Tools you will need.. 17 mil open end spanner,18 and 19 mil sockets.Small trolley Jack,Axle stand or blocks of wood.

and of course your new drop link.

1.Handbrake on,Start the engine and raise car to its highest position.switch off the engine

2.loosen the wheel nuts (slightly)on the side you will be doing.

3.Jack up the car using the jacking point to the front of sill on the side you will be doing.( I used my small trolley jack to do this, much safer )

4.Remove w/nuts and wheel.

5.Place axle stand or blocks of wood under the rear of the front subframe

6.Lower jack to rest the car on the axle stand. (safety in mind)

7.Place jack under the anti-roll bar, jack up just enough to take the strain of the a/roll bar.(Place jack a few inches away from the nut you take off.)

8.Undo the 2 nuts (19 mil socket)from top and bottom of old drop link and pull off.You may need to hold the back of the bolts with the 17 mil open spanner.

9.Offer up the new drop link and place thru the holes vacated by the old drop link.18 mil socket for new nuts and hold the bolt with the 17 mil spanner.

If you paid attention as to how the old link came off you wont make a mistake putting the new one on.Tighten the nuts as effin tight as you can(sorry I don't

know the correct torque setting but I'm sure effin tight will do)Or find out the correct torque setting)

10.Release jack from anti-roll bar and jack up the car again, remove axle stand.

11.Refit the wheel and tighten the wheel nuts.

12.lower the jack and remove,retighten/torque the wheel nuts.

13.Start the engine and lower the car to the correct driving height, and test drive round the block.

Even working at a slow pace you should be able to do a drop link in under an hour..Take your time, its an easy job,Local garage wanted £50 a side inc labour.

My local parts factor charged £8.40 per link which I thought very very reasonable.

I hope this helps someone....***I will not be held accountable for anything going wrong using my method.***

PS. The new drop link used 18 mil nuts, unlike the 19 mil originals.
