I have a 1998 Xantia 1.8SXI. Has been running like a dream until this week. I start the engine (a little lumpy)ticks over nicely. As soon as I touch the throttle it cuts out. If I whack the throttle down it runs as it should revving freely, but any gentle movements of the gas then the thing cuts out. Help.

:( :rolleyes: :) Just to let you all know that I have had the problem fixed. The Pipe is the High Pressure pipe that goes from the pump, all round the Engine and then into the Steering Rack. Had to buy the part from Citroen (£100) A Citroen company in Corby fitted it for (£117 all in) Did not think £217 was too bad but a little more than expected. Citroen Dealer wanted £400!!!!!

My 1998 Xantia SXI 16v has just failed the MOT. It has failed on "Nearside front fluid suspension unit interconnecting pipe corroded" Does anyone know anything about this problem and if its easy to sort out?

I have exactly the same problem on my Xantia 1.8sxi 16v 1998. Would be grateful for any help also. How much is the repair work likely to be with a Citroen Dealer ?!?
