  1. When they done the clutch it will be the gearbox oil theyve drained not the engine oil
  2. Did you get your starting problem sorted out
  3. What spec level is your suspension have you got 2 or 3 speres on the back. as on some models the middle sphere is a anti sink sphere

  6. Change the fuel and air filter and check the camshaft sensor
  7. Its the front fogs your talking about if so then its perfectly normal its to help you see round corners. if its the rear ones then take it straight back to were you got it as its got a fault
  8. check the multiplug for signs of arcing on the terminals

  10. the elm unit is what we started with as we wernt to sure and belive me It works for diesels weve used them in the past. at £6 it a very cheap entry into obd And yours is obd.compliant. Without diagnostic support it is going to cost you a lot of money to find this fault. it could be anything from a loose wire to a knackered engine. but anyway here goes http://www.ehow.com/way_5471047_do-check-crankshaft-position-sensor.html theres one there for the camshaft aswell. test them and let us know the results please
  11. Ok thats much easier to answer for what you need to check order one of theese of ebay and it will sort you out http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-OBD2-ELM327-V1-5-Bluetooth-Car-Scanner-Android-Torque-Auto-Scan-Tool-OBD-II-/111088326026?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item19dd61558a You need to check the crankshaft and camshaft sensors as these will stop the engine from starting
  12. Dont leave the ring off for to long as the circle has been known to oval off and make it a proper pig to get the ring to screw down again
  13. Right dont be going in a huff or out like that but your going to get told off. Think carfully before you answer a question as it can point things in the wrong direction. Asked you if it started with a bump start and you said yes your last post says it dosnt. Its important as theres 2 different answers. so lets start again When the engine is cold does it start up straight away both of the key and with a bump start or does it just do in when its warmed up. when it does start is it instant or does it wind itself up and eventually fire up and what colour smoke (if any) comes out the exhaust. try to give as much info as possible please
  14. Unreal that like
  15. If its firing straight up with a bump start then is not your diesel pump. Check to see if the engine is turning over fast enough Starter/battery/earth leads
  16. is the lamp for inside/outside and why must it come on with the ignition. and it will be safer to use a spare slot in the fuse box
  17. When you bump start it does it fire straight up. the garage should clear the codes for you itl cost them nothing is yours a 8 valve or 16 valve is your battery turning engine over fast
  18. dealership should be able to plug the car in and find the code in the dtc history. If it needs a new filter then it wont be cheap and 39k seems a bit low for a dpf filter but without knowing the history of the car its not impossible for it to need one
  19. Definatley change water pump. And id be changing the airflow meter aswell
  20. It would be cheaper to put a second hand engine in 9complete with pump). What fault codes/symptoms do you have
  21. Unplug your mass airflow multiplug and see if you get the same symptoms
  22. nope the metal pipe into the strut is the high pressure supply. The 2 plastic ones the bottom one is the low pressure return pipe and the other is just a breather. check to see if the 2 plastic pipes are on the right way round. if its just a small drip then i would leave it to see if it settles down and stops. if not check the pipes and ngaiter for splits
  23. Dont worry about being a novice we all have to start somewhere. welcome to the forum and ask as many questions as you like. Have you got a handbook for your car
  24. The trip computer is on the dashboard and not controled by the wiper stalk. its controlled by the button on the clock binicle. or are you refering the the display above the stereo that tells you mpg and miles to empty
  25. Take the cat of the car and jetwash it
