  1. c4owners.org gone. Have the admin run off with our cash? Can't get anything on the server, just a blank page.

    C4 Shocks

Had my rear shocks replaced at 40,000 miles. The new ones seem to improve the handling and is quieter over poor road surfaces.
  3. It's not Blackcircle that give service, but your local fitter!! Last week had Pirelli P7's fitted to front by local Blackcircle fitter, and after got home, checked pressures and they were all spot on as per sticker on the car. I also made sure they did centreless balancing before booking my appointment. Had the 4 wheel laser tracking done also, which was slightly out.

    Brake Pads

I would expect the brake discs to need replacing when the pads have worn out.

    Coolant

Topped up the coolant today with tap water. Probably only half a litre maximum was needed to get between Min & Max on the reservoir. Thanks for all advice.

    Coolant

If I knew what was in there I would get the same type. The handbook says nothing about what to use. The maintenance guide just says see your dealer. I guess water will do for just topping up.

    Coolant

I presume you never need anti-freeze where you live? When I had my Audi A4 it was important not to mix different types of anti-freeze as it could damage the engine. I need to know which type I should use?

    Coolant

I have an intermittant service warning light, and a message saying cooling circuit is low. Seems to happen some mornings when I start the car. Does this mean that I need to top up? I have always thought it looked low since I have had the car, so don't think it's leaking. What sort of coolant should I use in my VTS HDi ?
  9. I doubt there is any difference. I have a Brodit mount, and the part number is the same if I select 2005 or 2006. The ability to select the year covers all make of cars for when there is a facelift in the model. The C4 has not had any facelift, so all parts will be the same. I would not expect a facelift until 2009 at the earliest.
  10. The Falken 452's are good and quiet. Mine been on for 13,000 miles now, and hope to reach 20,000, but I do drive like I am in a Formula 1 car! The noise will be the lower profile tyres which the OP is not used to and nothing to do with tyre brand. I noticed this when I had my Audi A4 and went from a 65 profile to a 55 after replacing the alloys with a larger size. The tyre noise was much louder. If you want quiet wheels then up the profile and reduce the wheel size to to the same spec as a basic C4.
  11. There isn't a 2.0HDi 110BHP diesel C4, let alone one with an intercooler. :)

    Car Alarm

Alarm is not really much use these days. Thieves normally steal the car keys from your house because immobilisers are fitted to cars since at least 1996. I presume all C4's have the immobiliser fitted as standard?
  13. And this for a C4VTS 2.0HDi http://aycu19.webshots.com/image/22178/2005723381051364820_rs.jpg Do I get the prize for HIGHEST AVERAGE SPEED of 49mph ? This is a months normal driving for me, not a one trip up the motorway. As you can see I did nearly 2,000 miles in July. Also I don't drive in a way that saves fuel. Just A to B in fastest time.
  14. No different to when I was charged £50 to balance the front wheels. Not covered by warranty, so you are paying for their labour rates.
  15. Still not had mine looked at yet. Have been waiting for a warmer spell of weather, so can prove the fault to the dealer. It does creak a lot on the offside rear in warmer weather.
