new injectors from citroen cost around 250 each give or take. but you can have your old injectors reconditioned much cheaper. regardless of people say i know this can be done. used it myself to fix picasso with same engine. much cheaper. they can cause economy problems but would expext other issues with them too. any questions feel free to ask i am a citroen king

hi there i understand where your coming from regarding costs of driving. obviously diesel i becoming more expensive as this is the way forward. having drove almost every make of citroens i can honestly say i would not bother with the petrol engine all except the c1 petrol which is a toyota engine. a recommended c5 is the 2.2 dual turbo what a motor they also use this lump in the c6. oh and the new c5 is running the 2.7 v6 diesel out of the c6. one last point if petrol engines are any good why have the only c6s sold had diesel engines. they do offer the 3.0 v6 petrol. citroen petrol engines are crap at best. all the 16 valve engines suffer noisy tappets and the earlier c5 suffered from the cam pulley rattling. not cheap. to stop noisy tappets on the 1.8 and 2.0 c5 petrols irs recommended to change the oil at at minimum 10k intervals

Central Locking (c5 Estate '53)
applefishbanana replied to Ed Armstrong's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
sounds like possible drivers door motor fault. if the door doesnt register it has been opened it will auto relock. does the interior light come on when you open the drivers open. also suspension nodding is common maybe either a software problem or water ingress into bhi -
can i just add citroen has made its name with diesel engines they make the best best diesel engines in the world many other manufacturers use there engines if they were so poor why are they the best diesel engine manufacturer. it annoys me when people with limited knowledge bitch about things they aint got a clue about. diesel is the future for cars get used to it or buy a bus pass

with little knwledge of the diesel c5 range i cannot expect you to see the beneits. i wont be drawn into an argument but note this not all c5 diesels have paricle filters fitted also. ervice schedule on petrol at 40 k spark plugs air filter fuel filter oil and filter and pollen filter. diesel is air filter fuel filter pollen filter oil and filter. almost the same but no spark plugs so where is the profit in servicing diesels? come back with better back ground knwledge and ill be happy to put you in your place

possible air leak into fuel system. long shot if you can get into fuel tank check for small iron fillings. one last thing if injectors sticking the fuel pressure will drop off and fuel return straight to tank. possible injector overhaul will cure this problem. from what you have told me it sounds like your injectors. try running some fuel treatment through the system first. mix it into fuel tank. let me know willing to help -
look for poor rear brake performance. signs are usually corroded rear disc. check for fluid leaks from front. suspension pipes sometimes split. particle filter is due at either 50k or 75k depending on build date. need more info on engine etc before i can comment further
-
need more info.as a rule when indicators show faulty with an alarm on older citroens its the alarm ecu but i need more info from you

Citroen C5 Hydraulics
applefishbanana replied to mucky1957's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
from experience the squeeks come from the rear suspension. normally the swing arms. if you good with cars its just time comsuming to sort out. otherwise could cost asmall fortune.
