  1. I have, over a period of time, struggled to get into my van, now it's almost impossible, the ignition lock is now a problem. I went to a local key cutter and the new key wouldn't let me in either. I've lubed them for all the time I've had the van as I know they wear. I'm keeping the van as it's an excellent bit of kit, any repairs necessary I do them. This problem is driving me nuts. Do the main dealers have a key cutting scheme? and do they have original codes etc. I don't need a chipped key as I've replaced the pump with a non immobiliser type. Can the locks, including the ignition barrel, be stripped and altered. I'm at my wits end now. Any info appreciated. Thanks
  2. Thanks for that, it would then appear to be the head, I'll try and source a second hand one, will it need to be recognised by the cars' brain via a diagnostic plug in or is it a straight forward plug in and go?
  3. My "S" reg Dispatch 1.9TDi speedo is erratic and sometimes doesn't work, it may read 30mph sometimes then jump down to zero and then read 10mph, wierd! the odo and trip 'seem' to be working, is this a common fault? any info appreciated - Paul
  4. Have a look at the rods that fit on the ball ends behind the gearbox (best veiwed from underneath the car) one of them has either fallen off or the bonding to the socket has failed. I have successfully repaired these using a cheap epoxy resin mix (£1.50 at our local cheapy motorists shop), the rods are getting more difficult to source at breakers yards now. Best of luck. 6. Hesitation, hiccups, whatever it is called it is now cured, problem caused by water in fuel from Esso station on A55 west bound near Kinmel Park,North Wales, avoid the f*^%ing place like the plague now. Moral of story: never give up trying to find the cause!!!
  7. Hi there, just a quickie really I think: my 8 valve has a hesitation, when cold or hot, worse when hot, seems like a very weak mixture at light throttle openings, either throttling back or accelerating gently, is there a known concern in this area, I have recently had the ecu de-immobilised and checked over and swapped a coil pack with a known good one, new plugs and leads and filter(s) but to no avail! do these suffer from air leaks at the inlet manifold? there is a slight exhaust leak after the lambda sensor. Any info would be gratefully received. - Paul French
