  1. C5 2.2hdi sx, 51 reg., done 44000miles, regularly serviced. Fault first noticed when towing my caravan up a hill and if the EBD fault shows, which it mostly does, then I lose speed and with the caravan on tow I sometimes doubt if I will make it up a slope let alone a hill. The fault also occurs without the caravan if I accelerate when going uphill and triggers between 48 - 55 mph. I have taken the car to a well respected non franchise Citroen garage and the computer initially indicated a turbo solenoid fault and the solenoid and pressure sensor were replaced. This did not cure the fault. He tried swopping air filters with another 2.2hdi but this had no effect. He took the car to a franchised Citroen dealer as he hoped their computer would be more capable than his. They had it for a week and for most of that time they were baffled. They then retuned saying they had solved the problem by installing another vacuum control to the turbo and had extensively tested it and it was OK. Drving home I came to my one and only hill, cursed myself, dropped speed to 40mph and then accelerated, as I reached 50mph the fault was triggered. I informed my garage and the best he can find out is that they removed the vacuum before returning the car. He has since installed this modification and tested it himself and it does not work. I have contacted Citroen UK but they say they can only help if talking to a franchised dealer. Help please. Syd
