  1. they are supposed to last the life of the car but having said that my nearsideone began to look dimmer than the o/s, so I replaced it. From citroen they are about £90 a time but if you look on the net you can get a pair for that sort of money. It is better to replace a a pair because the temperature setting of them determines the colour of the light. You can be stopped or fail an MOT for lights not being the same colour. Also they are a so and so to change and due to the very high voltage on them make sure they haven't been on for 10 mins before changing. They are not unlike ordinary bulbs to change but asre very very tight.
  2. Assuming you mean a mk I filter this is basically behind hte central console. from ht4 paaseger footwell remove pull back the carpet situated above the plastic transmission tunnel trim. Looking upward locate to small chrome screws ( may need torch to see). These hold the filter in tight. Once these are out pull the handle on the filter towards passenger door. It is awkward and the filter is bendable in two places so take care. I t can be gently cleaned. As haynes manuals say replacement is the revese of removal. If you get the filter lined up correctly it just slides back in!!! It took me three goes to get it out the first time I did it . good luck Lightfj
  3. with the tailgate open on hte large lenses there are some black blanking plugs. gently lever these off to reveal deep set screws. remove the screws removenthe complete lens to access the bulbs. Lightfj
  4. The luggage area lights fail to work when the tailgate opens. Also the suspension height switch doesn't work. If you open the glass all is ok. Is it controlled by a simple swith or is it a sensor and where is it situated. any help gratefully received. Cheers lightfj
  5. <_< i have read that beam deflectors (sticky backed plastic) don't work with xenon headlights! Other makes suggest there is a switch to convert to right hand dipping. What about the C5? Also how do you align the plastic to the small angled marks on Citroen headlight protectors? Cheers
  6. <_< i have read that stick on beam deflectors don't work with xenon headlights. How then does one comply with foreign laws demanding dipped beam conversion. Can any one explain how these converters should be aligned to marks on both headlights and headlight protectors. Cheers
  7. Does anyone know how to align the sticky black plastic converters onto C5 headlights. mine has h/l protectors which have 2 marks on them but they dont seem be relevant. Cheers Jeff <_<
  8. The holes are drilled through the black skirt below the body coloured moulding. The wires are releatively easy to grab asa you push each one through. Ther should be a grommet in the floor towards the rear of the passenger side wheel arch. My estate has the factory fitted type and this is where they are fitted. The tow bar electrics come through said grommet anr run behind the side trim on the passenger side luggage bay. I am struggling to get the sensors aout of mine cos one has gone faulty. Good luck Lightfj
  9. turn ignition off with wiper switch in hte on position.
  10. I have an exclusive se estate and the parking sensors sometimes work ok but mostly they beep continuously! I suspect it is the usual dirty contact problem endemic to Citroen ;BUT How do you get the sensors out. Not a lot of room under the bottom valance and I am sure that the whole thing pops out of hole in the bumper. I just cant figure out how they are held in. Can anyone help please . lightfj :
  11. You may be able to avoid removing the container. Raise to maximum height. Remove offside ( drivers side ) wheel. Remove bottom part of undertray and also the forward part of the plastic wheel arch liner. Below the headlight is the bottom of the washer bottle . You will see the pump at the bottom it just pulls out. Take care as all the water will evacuate down your sleeve. Flush out the water bottle as much as you like. A pressure washer on minimum setting may be a good idea , or a hosepipe with abit of pressure . It is also a good idea to remove the pipes from the pump and the electrical connections. Apply WD40 or similar down the pipe outlets of the pump and celan the electrical contacts. Then put it all back together!! The pump has a changeover system inside to change the wash from front to back and often siezes up so the WD treatment can work wonders.Good luck lightfj
  12. depends on hte type of sensors you want to fit. The type i have fitted to a number of cars has a hole cutter provided in the kit. The wire is fed though each hole and collected under the bumper, the and is attached to the sensor and the other run to the control unit. You should not have to take the bumper off!
  13. How does the connector come off the bulb? Am aware of the high voltage hazards. How is the bulb held in plae. C5 exclusive se 23.2 hdi passenger side bulb - battery very close -does it need removing? Help gratefully received.
