The One Time You Loose Concentration.....
LeoTheHamster replied to Ciaran2903's topic in C4 - Technical
95? Odds are you're looking at 6 points, possibly a court appearance. I was offered one of those course things for doing 36 in a 30 - I was told if I was doing 35 nothing would have happened, and at 37 it would have been auto 3 points + £60. 95 in a 70 is a big leap compared, I wouldn't expect leniancy if I were you -
End of the day if you're happy with it then thats all that matters  Car Audio is my main hobby, so I like ripping the cars to pieces and rebuilding them. Chances are you have hobbies that I wouldn't be at all interested in Work starts soon....

You're right, a car isn't a good enviroment for sound - thats part of the fun  Who wants to do the easy thing all the time?

Not really, everything except the batteries and the Legatias are second-hand

Pioneer also make this box of tricks: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=5409 that'll add BlueTooth compatability to any Pioneer deck. Not sure if other manufacturers do the same mind

Wiring Up An Amp In The C4.
LeoTheHamster replied to wozza's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Your wiring is fine if you're running a small amp, however for something with a bit of muscle you'd be better off wiring straight to the battery than risk trying to draw too much current down too small a cable - unless you ordered a flame-grilled Wozza :P -
Theres much better units out there than Sony Xplop range. If you really want to use the steering controls than it's a factor you'll have to take into account (i.e buy the Blaupunkt :P ) but it's not like it's a hardship to push a button on the dash rather than the wheel, and opens the market up to some much better quality decks. Although maybe I'm bias because I feel the controls are in just the wrong place to be comfortable.....

Sounds good to me :P Got any details? I looed for an Events section but couldn't see one anywhere

Work has already started, I'll see if I can some that are already up. It's a tad messy atm. One of our goals was to make sure the spare was still accessable - not an easy task. I'll expand more on the work when I get the pics :P @wozza: The stock unit is only a temporary fix at best, so I'm not too fussed about keeping it in there tucked away - the Sony XES kit I'm using does have it's own tuner block, but it's a seperate bit of kit that is proving to be a tad hard to find. However theres a chap in the States atm working on a DAB module, so hopefully that'll be working this time next year  Edit: Heres some pics that were put up on the SESQ forum. there not much cop, but it's better than nowt. Clicky Work resumes next week

Don't have any problems with the mirrors here. Do have a problem with the MPG gauge though. It seems to like telling me 6314 miles. Or 35MPG. Or telling me 19 MPH. And not changing. Ever. Unless I disconnect the battery and reset the unit What it's on about I have no idea, I just push the MODE button now and it all goes away :P
-
Nice one mate, cheers :P Looks like I'll be moving the stock unit then. Should be fun. Should I post pics when I'm done, or would nobody be interested?
-
Anyway, enough about my mighty wang, anyone else got any ideas?

I have a penis, and can therefore reverse a car without needing sensors

Hi there, I'm Leo. Usually frequent the TalkAudio.co.uk forum, but I'm in need of some more specialist knowledge on the C4 than is on offer there - hope you will accomidate me :P 1) I have an SX model C4, with the standard CD headunit (not the JBL upgrade or owt like that). I'd like to relocate this unit somewhere when upgrading my audio system so I don't use the different functions the deck offers. Are the cables coming out of the unit simple copper cables that can easily be extended, or as the C4 operates a CANBUS system iirc are there any optical/digital cables I should be aware of? 2) If I cannot (or of course choose not to) relocate the stock HU based on the previous question, it looks like I'm going to have to crack open the fibreglass and get custom. I've seen that higher spec C4s have a SatNav display in the seperate centre panel of the dash below the vents. Would there be enough room behind this panel to replace my current cubbyhole flappy thing with a headunit, or is there all kinds of nasties lurking just behind? For reference, the HU is about 16cm (6 1/2 inches) deep. 3) Another location I though of is just above the rev counter. As my headunit is operated fully by (wired and wireless) remote control, with the actual in-dash bit just being a HU-sized display, as long as I can see it it doesn't have to be easily accessable by hand. However I feel that theres going to be all kind of nasties lurking around the steering wheel, so unless someone advises me otherwise it's a path I'd rather avoid Right, think thats about it for now B) Leo. Edit: Thought of a forth one: Can I turn off Economy Mode at all? As I'm thinking about competing in Car Audio competitions, which must have the engine off, so the last thing I need is the C4 putting it's oar in every five seconds or so
