  1. On my 2002 xsara HDi, on the bottom of the air filter box i only have one hose attached to it, and its about 2-3 inches wide, and its a fabric flexible hose that goes into the bodywork on the offside, presuming this is where the cold air is taken on these cars. this is the only hose i have apart from one the same in size which goes to the mass airflow sensor then on into the engine from the top of the box. Nick.
  2. cheers :) makes sence now lol.
  3. Sorry, it says overspeed not overdrive =]
  4. i heard that on the HDI's then valves dont move far enough to touch the top of the cylinder which would mean no damage. Is that right or just tales?
  5. On my 2002 Xsara hdi 110, the computer screen in the middle states mpg, trip etc etc, and i have never thought much of it. But i discoverd by flicking through menus on it, there is a menu labelled Overdrive, i have 3 options, On, Off or program, but what is it? I dont have a handbook im afraid to say and havnt the slightest clue what it is, i know its not going to be a gearbox overdrive like cars from the 70's Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Also... does anyone know where i can find out which engine number i have? i might aswell change the clutch at the same time, but need to make sure i get the right one
  7. On my gearbox, it recently became very noisey untill i had to be towed off the m1. But now it has cooled down, 1st 2nd 3rd reverse and neutral all work, but make hideous noises, 4th has a slight noise and 5th is absolutely fine from what i can hear anyway. Ive been told i need a new gearbox, am thinking mabye input shaft bearing has gone? Is it possible to change a bearing in the gearbox or will i have to buy a new/refurb gearbox? And also, where would i go about finding these parts? ive been scouring ebay but is hard finding anything. Thanks. Nick
