I had the same problem and could not believe it when I fitted michelins and it cured the problem! Simple as that (for me).

Its quite plain to hear that there is no increase in volume, and that I have to increase the volume manually when at speed to maintain a level that can be heard.

My car is a 2001 C5 with the standard cd radio fitted. Everything works fine but I cant get the option of "auto volume" to work even though I can select "yes" in the options. Please forgive me if I'm stating the obvious but the unit has the facility to adjust the volume depending on the speed/noise of the car( a sort of compensator). I seem to remember hearing somewhere that this option has to be enabled by the main dealer but find this hard to accept as it seems such an easy option. Any advice please.
