  1. My C5 is due its 137,500 mile service soon, this is the 11 th service and has been done virtually every 12,500 miles. How much would i be looking for this and what is involved. Have spoke to 4 gararges and prices vary from 233 - 487. These are all citroen main dealers. Cheers for any help. Mark 2003 vtr est 2.0 hdi
  2. Unfortunately cant get my wheel nuts off now and have just snapped my wheel brace trying. However i have looked under the handbrake gaitor, two cables run either side but they are not level. Is this indicative of the cable coming away from the calipers. With the handbrake on the car does try to pull to one side when raising the clutch when in gear. To the left when going forwards. Would this suggest the left calliper is gripping and the right is where the fault is.
  3. Any chance you can go into a litle more detail. Mark
  4. Is someone having a laugh at me from a great height. Got to work today, pulled up. Pulled on handbrake and instead of the 2 or 3 notches , up it goes with no feel in it at all(no ratchet) until it gets almost vertical. Where 2 or 3 clicks as normal and it is held on the handbrake as usual. Can anyone shed a little light on this. I have left it in gear to make sure it does'nt roll away. And it drives as it always has, no sqeaking, no scraping noises. Brakes perfectly and no warning lights either. Even the braking light on the dashboard does not come on till your two thirds of the way into pulling the handbrake up. Mark
  5. At last all sorted, having ordered the nut from citroen and them sending the wrong one, i got it changed for some standard nuts. Phoned every tyre fitters in the yellow pages and found a few that new what they were doing. Took it to a back st tyre fitters, they knocked a cutting socket on and hey presto within 5 mins all the locks were off and they had fixed the puncture all for £25. Should have seen his face when i told him how much citroen wanted. Bunged him a drink and off i went. Everybody happy.
  6. Finally got the replacement nut from citroen, and guess what they sent the wrong one bag marked up right but with wrong nut in. They want £180 to take the nuts off. And then another 120 for replacement nuts. Got RAC round they don't want to touch it. Great
  7. Have an 03 reg c5 vtr estate, with locking wheel nuts, however the adaptor seems to have sheered. Is there an easy way to replace this item as citroen have told me to chisel them all off at a ridiculous cost. Surely the adaptor can be replaced. Cheers Mark
  8. Have just bought a new trailer and have towed it 5 miles. However a mile into this journey had a braking fault alarm pop up. There was no change to braking capability and only seemed apparent when accelerating when the car would struugle to gain any speed.( Like a misfire) Anyway this disappeared after a few hundred yards and so did the fault, but very gingerly drove home, where the fault flashed up twice more. Dropped the trailer off and took car out for a few miles, without any problems. Any ideas as there was no problem braking. The trailer is braked could this be the issue, as to why it is difficult to gain speed causing the alarm pop up. Cheers
  9. Yes sorry its the engiene temp that reads sometimes, and the fuses are fine.. I take it the control in the boot should be pressed withoutthe engiene running and you should be able to see it move. Also any good garages round Manchester way, its due it next service in 2500 miles.
  10. Just got a 03 plate C5VTR estate, 134000 miles runs a drives great. Had the usual problems with the doors staying locked sometimes whenever they feel likeit. Just a few things i have noticed are they anything to be concerned about. Glow plug light does not come on when starting up. Temp. gauge works when it wants to. Cannot seem to get 12v acessory sockets to work. Boot suspension switch doesn't work. Are these just trivial things or do they have greater meaning. I do not think there is anything wrong with the suspension as it sits up when i get in and doesn't sink to the ground overnight. Cheers Mark
