Hi, please could anyone help me with my problem, we have a 2000 x reg 1.6 Picasso (with no aircon), a few weeks ago (please dont laugh as its true) we were in the lion enclosure at Knowsley safari park when the temp warning light came on telling me to stop the car obviously we left the lions as quickly as possible and turned the car off to let it cool down, I checked the water level and although it had been leaking from the cap, the level wasnt too bad so a quick top up and all was well, but after checking into it a bit further the reason is that the rad fan is not kicking in, so far Ive changed the temp sender that screws into the thermostat housing, checked the under dash fuses, and also checked to see whether there is any power to the fan itself which there is 12-13 volts whenever the ignition is on, but the fan is still not kicking in, I presumed that there would only be power to the fan if the car was hot but even from cold there is power there. Is this a common fault or does anyone know of anything else I should try before taking it to the stealers ?
