I've experienced the identical issue - but it happened when I had left a mobile phone lying loose in the space between the gearstick and the electric brake - when I moved into 2nd (never got as far as 4th/ 6th but the same would have happened) the phone acted as a lever between the gearstick and the brake switch, putting on the brakes!!! Quite a shock when your not expecting it! So now I always check that that space is free from any clutter!!! :)

Hi - the horn on my 2010 C5 Tourer Exclusive (manual, 2.0 HDI) has ceased working - possibly after I went through a flood. The 15A fuse identified in the owners handbook (fuse f2 in box under bonnet) has not blown. Past experience with many citroen's tells me that the fuse layouts are not always as published in the owner's manual, so I'd be keen to know (before I start searching for the horn itself!) from anyone who may known of alternative fusebox layouts on these models....

Hi - my C5 2.0 HDI diesel is at 93k miles. Worried that its time to change the cam belt I spoke to two local dealers - Citroen Reading and Citroen Basingstoke. Reading advises change at 100k/ 10 years, no sooner; Basingstoke say that the latest citroen advice is 160k. So - any views as to what the best approach is here? Has the best advice shifted from that f recent years which was to have it done at 90 - 100k?

No - and today the garage have had the carpets up to check the cable connections, with no resolution.

It does not appear related to the passenger airbag switch: if I turn that, I get a different message telling me that the passenger airbag is switched off

My C5 started giving 'faulty airbag' warnings on a regular basis. Local Citroen dealer has identified (having tried a 'Mod to the connectors' with no success) that I require replacement of a computer known as coms 2000, at £450. Anyone with this experience? Garage are unable (unwilling) to commit as to whether the airbags are really non operational or this is merely a fault with the system installed to test them. Anyone got any inside information?
