Help if possible......Is there only ONE pressure release screw on the accumulator at > the front for the whole car, or is there one for the rear end. I'm > replacing the rear two comfort spheres. Thanks.............. > 1998 19TD SX Xantia

Cheers Colin, I'm sure you're right with your diagnosis. I can see the compressor and I gather that I can get to it through the inner wing panel. Is there a number relating to this unit on it? If so, is this the number that I quote for a replacement? Cheers again.

The air-con system on my Xantia is very noisey when its running. It sounds like a worn bearing somewhere and increases in sound pitch as the car revs up. It works faily well, but could be a bit colder.It was re-gassed last year. Any idea's please.

thanks techbod, I'll have a check through those items, but the boot light and the opposite light were working before I tried to rectify the first problem. But I'll give it a go. Cheers

One of the interior courtesy lights (Not Map Lights) stopped working on my Nov 1998 1.9td Xantia. I checked the bulb,which was ok, cleaned the contacts etc,replaced the bulb and connector only to find that the other interior light had stopped working along with the boot light.I checked ALL the fuses Twice and all are ok.I even checked the fuses under the bonnet just to satisfy myself that all avenue's had been checked. The handbook and the Haynes manual do not mention a fuse for these lights on this model, but it is mentioned for the ealier model, 1993 up to Jan 1998, in the Haynes manual, but they don't correspond with this model Are there any "Hidden" fuses anywhere on the car. Or am I missing the obvious somewhere? Any help would be much appreciated...................

On the passenger side of the car right up under the dash board undo and pull down the carpet section which will expose the black section of the air intake system. There are about six screws arranged in a rectangular shape of the plastic intake section and the pollen filter is behind there. It may be as well to have a vacuum cleaner in with you to clean the intake system as you remove the filter. Job time? about 30 to 40 mins at leisure.
