  1. I have a C3 auto 2002. My wife driving to work, after a few miles noticed lack of power and engine warning light came on. She stopped. Later started again, light came on for 1/2 secons then off. Drove to work. I later picked up car and drove about 8 miles home. No faults. I did notice a slight hesitation to accelarate. Would the engine warning light come on if part of the coil pack was faulty? Handbook said it may be a petol pump fault. Other people say it may be a sensor fault. I realise that I will have to pay £40/55 for a diagnostic. However if it is intermittent it may not show. If the fault "comes back" would the garage charge me again?
  2. Thanks for suggestions. Tightened the battery connection and no more problems. However in my other post another problem!
  3. I have a 2002 C3 Auto. Has run well,no problems. Car on journey, battery light comes on and car stops. 2 minutes later car starts and is fine. First time. Suggestions please.
  4. I've been told on my previous post that the fan problem is due to the faulty fan controller [restistor?]. Anyhow, after getting price for part, [£45], looked at labout costs. The main Citroen dealer in London wants about £85.00 in labour for .8 of an hour to fit. If I want the fault confirmed they would charge me more! [Dessera in North London] Can anyone suggesta specialist car electrician [C3] garage, who would do it for around /less that £50.00? This would bring costs down to under £100.00 all in? I live in N14 London but willing to travel say 10 miles or so. Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks for suggestions. I have tried all combinations. No good. fan comes on when I start up.Everything works heating/coolness.Apart from the fan being on and the speed. I have had another reply which states that this is an electronic fan control part failure and is found in the heater box on the drivers' side and will cost about £45.00. I just have to find REASONABLE labour costs now! Thanks again.
  6. Unable to get to car! Sorry for delay. Did what you said pressed the a/c button then Auto, but fan stayed on!. I am assuming that the A/c button is one with the frosted symbol? The fan seems to be on at the same speed all the time, even when the fan blades increase. The only time the fan gets even louder is when I stitch to RECYCLING..When I press the "- " button on the fan the screen goes blank but is still lit, and the fan is still on. I am considering removing the fan fuse for a couple of minutes. Perhaps this will clear the memory? The only thing I did recently, and it should not have affected anything : It was cold one morning [5am], I turned everything on, i.e. demister front and back windows Recycling as well. Any suggestions please?
  7. Nothing in handbook. can answer some of your ?'s. Before if I pressed the MINUS button on the fan till the shaded part dissapeared the fan would stop. Now it keeps going at the same rate. This occures even if I press the PLUS sign to the maximum no change in output. If i press the air recycling button the fan increases speed. However I think this is another fan that cuts in.[Though I really am not sure as it is my guess!]. In auto it speeds up slightly before going back to the same rate. Thanks for your response.
  8. I have a C3 1.6 auto 52reg.[air con] The fan will not switch off! If I press demister or internal ventilation the fan will increase [normal]. However if I leave on automatic at say 19deg. the fan will keep at a certain rate. This happens even if I try to increase the rate manually using the plus sign. Any ideas please? Please ask if you want more information. Regards.
  9. Thanks for reply. It is a petrol model. 1.4 auto. I was thinking of putting a small amount of glue on the tip and pushing it back in the hope it would stick to the broken end, and after a couple of hours pull the "complete" dipstick out. Then of course buy a new one. This may sound a stupid question. Does the auto gearbox have a sump? Regards, A.Hughes.
  10. Checking the oil I replaced the dipstick to take a new reading . When I removed it 3/4 of the plastic end had fallen off!!! I realise this will not go anywhere but I have 2 problems: 1]. How do I remove the plastic bit? 2]. How do I find the oil level? Any help welcome. The car is a Citreon C3 automatic 02 reg.
