  1. Hi All, I have a berlingo van, 2.0 hdi, siemens on a 54 plate. I'm after a unit to plug into the OBD port to altera few settings and check for fault codes etc. I have VAG-COM for my VW and I'm looking for similar functionality for the b'lingo I've bought a couple of units that are supposed to work, but I don't get a reading. Can anyone help?
  2. How did you get on with this? did you manage to get it all to fit? I have a siemens system, and I have added a kingquip tuning box. This does make a difference, but I would be interested in fitting a similar intercooler system to yours...
  3. I have a kingquip tuning box on my hdi and at first I thought it was a load of rubbish. I fitted it, found the best position for the potentiometer on it, and started using it. When it came to MOT time, the emissions were off the richter scale. We disconnected the box, then it was fine after about 10 mins running. So, when the next MOT time came round, I disconencted it at home before I went to the test centre. When I set off, I realised how good the box was. Withouth it my van drove like a tank. Really sluggish and very slow; unresponsive. So, the upside, it's a lot quicker. Downside, the economy has been hit quite a bit. I would say it's gone from a good 43mpg down to about 32 to 35mpg. I change my oil every 5,000 miles, and use a good semi synthetic engine oil. (10w40 if my memory serves me right) Hope that helps you!
  4. I had same thing- the bearings had gone in the alternator... New alternator fixed it..
  5. Since I got my 2.0hdi Berlingo van about a year ago it has always had a dodgy horn. I managed to get it working (purely by chance I think) at one point, but it went again. I thought the problem was with the BSI/Com2000 unit so I bit the bullet and booked in at a local dealer for a diagnostic check. the dealer said that the problem was that the inner ring on the com2000 unit that allows the horn to connect was faulty. I couldn't see how, but thought they're the dealer, they should know. Well a few months later, guess what, the horn packed up again. I decided to have a look and see if I could sort it myself. I located and bought a replacement com2000, and set to work getting the airbag off. When I got the airbag off, I saw that on the back of the airbag, there are 4 terminals, one in each corner that are made from brass. These basically close the circuit on the horn once the steering wheel centre is depressed. It looked like someone had tried to bend these and they had signs of wear. I straightened them out so they looked how they should be, cleaned them up and put a spot of solder on each to close the gap between the contacts slightly. I reassembled it all, did a bsi reset and hey presto, it works! I think I'm going to go back to the dealer and tell them what I think as they fed me a load of tripe when it went to them! So if anyone gets a faulty horn and they want any advice on how to repair, let me know! Also if anyone wants a replacement com2000 I have one going!
  6. Stripped the bdi out last night and made sure everything was intact- it was. also disconnected the jvc stereo and parrot kit that I have had fitted, this made no difference. the horn still works as and when it feels like it wants to! Someone told me that the contacts under the steering wheel may need cleaning/checking, so can anyone help with instructions on how to remove the airbag to get the wheel off???
  7. did you have any luck with this???
  8. As far as I am aware, yes. Last night I disconnected the battery and left it for several minutes, reconnected and then switched side lights on (the bsi reset process) I could not do the process exactly, as I do not have a working key fob. (that is another problem I have, I cannot get a key fob to program to work the central locking- this may be my error in that I am not doing the correct process!!!) When I then started the engine, the horn worked. The auto central locking had started to work as well. This morning I went to the vehicle, the horn doesn't work! - It's starting to make me think that the BSI is faulty. Does that shed any light at all? When the rain stops, I will strip out the bsi and make sure all connections are good- last time I did this everything was connected and working well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....
  9. Hi there, I have a 54 plate berlingo 2.0 hdi. It's only done about 50k and I#m experiencing electrical problems. The horn stopped working, then worked when it wanted to. Now it will not work at all. I have found the horn, checked the connector, but there is no power to it when the horn is pressed. I have checked the fuses, all ok. It's due for an MOT very soon, and I don't want to get hit with a massive bill, so If I can fix it myself in the meantime, then it would be a big bonus. The other problem I have noticed is that the display above the stereo is rather dim on the left hand side. I can change the language, but that's it. It doesn't have the original head unit fitted, but the replacement was done by a reputable dealer. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi all, I'm pretty new here and I'm trying to get a few answers if at all possible.... 1) I bought a b'lingo van recently. it is a 54 plate 2.0hdi with the siemens injection system. Unfortunately there was only 1 key supplied with it and it wasn't the central locking one! Citroen have quoted me £140 for a key which I think is insane... I've bought a key from ebay but I haven't a clue how to get it working... Any ideas? 2) Will the rear compartments from the multispace fit into the van? 3) I'm getting a pulsing feeling from the power steering when in lock (going round a roundabout) and when in lock (stood still) Any ideas? 4) The information display unit in the middle of the dash is playing up. It's rather dim at one side and does not really do anything. Occasionally it says there is a door open when it's shut, and it seems to tell only 3 different times, 8.34, 12.42 and 18.27 (or similar!) - Any ideas!!! 5) I would like to get a little bit more power out of the engine, and I've looked at a "tunit" box for about £400. The price isn't a major issue, but will I see a big gain over standard? Any help with the above 5 will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks in advance! Oops, I've just noticed I've posted this in the wrong section; would the powers that be please edit accordingly! - Thanks
  11. Wow! I thought I was the only one to have this problem. It can also pulse on my van when I am stood still but about an inch from full lock. The Pump has been replaced, but I haven't a clue what to look at next... Any ideas anyone??? (Mine is a 54 plate 2.0 Hdi)
