  1. Hi It might help if you were dialing the number correctly. It is 08000 727272, I have tried it and my call was answered by AA Citroen Assist within 15 secs. It looks like you have been omitting an 0. Hope this helps Cheers
  2. Sorry to hear that, I hope she is ok. I'm not sure on the ins and outs but have you looked at the MIB (Motor Insurance Bureau) they deal with claims against uninsured drivers. Maybe your insurance company could advise ? If your with Direct Line they don't make you pay any excess or loose NCB if your hit by an uninsured driver and its not your fault. You could take civil action against him through the county courts, though if he has no licence or insurance I doubt he will eb able to pay your compensation. Hope you get it sorted.
  3. I have an 04 C3 HDi Desire which I have owned since new and occasionally mine has done this. My dealer has said it is a problem he has come across due to the steering being electronic on the C3. He has told me that when the power steering does fail to operate on starting, to switch of engine wait 30 secs and start again always does the trick. Apparently its to do with the amount of voltage getting to the power steering, hope this helps......
  4. My dealer always offers to fit the bulb free of charge (I always purchase the bulb from parts dept).
  5. try www.chipsaway.co.uk
  6. Hey I know I don't post on this section normally but just want to say I feel for ya bud. A similar thing happened to me when I had the Xsara, I was side swiped by a shogun on a lane and ended up spinning, taking out a gate post and ending up nose down in a ditch. Insurance is little consolation especially when they drive off with total disregard (that happened with me too). I guess it happened fast, but hope you have reported it to the police as there might have been further accidents caused by that looney. Anyway hope you get your car sorted and feel better soon. Best wishes Toblerone
  7. Hi I used to have a 2001 Xsara LX 1.6. as far as I know the external temperature gauge was only fitted to models with a/c. It is also quite possible with regards to the display that as yours had a cassette player as standard those features were omitted and a different display fitted. There is usually a note with the manual saying that this varies according to trim level (or words to that effect) and may not be fitted to your vehicle. Hope this helps. Kind regards Toblerone
  8. All MK2 facelifted c2/3 L models do not come with a radio as standard. Its detailed on the spec sheet. I thought a Citroen technician and citroen obsessive would have known this ?! ;)
  9. Just to clarify, speed awareness courses are offered at the police forces/camera partnerships discretion and normally only to lower infringments eg 34 in a 30 zone etc. So you might get one or you might just be offered a fixed penalty endorsment.
  10. Hi, I have an 04 C£ Hdi Desire, whenever I reverse or turn the steering wheel at low speeds I get a rubbing noise as though something is catching somewhere. When turning faster the noise is not noticeable. Anyone else got any ideas? Many thanks
  11. I'm with Norwich Union, my glass excess is £60 for my C3.Recently my rear o/s passenger door glass shattered. Apparently it doesn't affect NCB, but they wouldn't guarantee my premium wouldn't rise at renewal because of it. They use RAC autowindscreens, who were as much use as a chocolate tea pot on the phone. They could not fit me in immediately as no glass in stock, my local citroen dealer did it the next day for £61.72 and I got a nice new C2 loan car aswell!!!
  12. Thanks kfk, Autoglass do not have the glass in stock for 4 days, and have offered to come out and fit perspex as a temporary solution. Also worried using autoglass affect the warranty in any way, the call centre guy was pretty cagey when I asked him and not very helpful. I think i'm going to go with my local dealer, they're quote is only marginally more expensive than my excess and they can do it first thing tomorrow.
  13. It's static build up, that discharges when you touch the car. Particularly if your wearing anything thats manmade ;)
  14. Hey all, I was driving down the M62 today and heard a cracking sound, to my horror my rear o/s passenger door window had crazed. It then blew in, showering glass all over the back seat. I can only assume I picked up a stone chip and the stress caused the window to shatter, has this happened to anyone else? Also am I best going and claiming through my insurance and going somewhere like autoglass or going to my dealer? I rang up autoglass but they don't have the glass in stock at the moment and were not overly helpful on the phone. I've had a couple of quotes and they seem reasonable for the glass, but the fitting is astronomical!!! Any ideas will be gratefuly received!!! Cheers
  15. I inherited an 01 Xsara 1.6 (which handled brilliantly), which I traded in for the c3. I took driving lessons in a Punto and Rover 25, both of which felt quite cheap, even in comparison with the c3. know my instructor had a lot of reliability issues with the punto and customer service issues with the dealership which disuaded me. At the time of purchase I looked at a Corsa and Hyundai Getz, but the deal offered was poor. I go to a family rum main dealer my family have used for 14 years. Re, the bump, the only part I had replaced was the black strip on the bumper which took 20 mins. The other parties car was undriveable as the radiator had pushed back and later written off and it was a 53 reg. I do like the way Clios handle, but previous family experience with our local Renault (Rubbish) dealership and a seriously unreliable laguna put me off. The car was off the road for over a month and a half in total in the first year of having it, then had serious problems which resulted in the leasing company taking it back at just under 2 years. I know, as with all cars there are problems. The c3 does have various niggles, but on the whole it is zippy, comfortable and secure and having a decent family run, local main dealer is an added benefit which will probally result in me sticking with Citroen when the car turns 3 next year. A car gets you from a to b, and my c3 does this with no problems.
