  1. A while ago some little ******** broke into my Xsara. They mustn't have seen the big white label saying "Alarme" (or if they did maybe the spelling caught them out) as nothing was taken as I think they must have run away when it started sounding. The result is that I need a replacement door lock for the driver's door. It's not worth claiming on the insurance so I'm going to get the panel fixed, however the lock is damaged beyond repair. Anyone know where I can get a replacement lock (don't mind it being a different key as I always just use the remote to lock/un-lock)? The car's a 2001 'Y' SX 16V. Cheers, Ian
  2. Hi all... I bought a 2001 Xsara 1.6 16v in July. Since I bought the car, the accelerator pedal has become "notchy". I disconnected the throttle cable a couple of months ago and lubricated it which seemed to help and make the actuation more fluid - since then its got gradually worse again. On a couple of occasions when I've been tanking it with my foot almost on the floor, the accelerator pedal has stuck on the floor (momentarily) and the engine hits the rev-limiter for about 2-3 seconds. With the cable disconnected, the pedal is smooth to operate, but the moulding that the cable fits into on the throttle body is a bit notchy to turn too. There's also a bit of resistance in the cable itself. Should I get myself a new cable, or does it sound a bit more serious? Cheers, Ian
