  1. I have a 2010 C5 Mk3 Saloon, fantastic but the navigator chip is 2009/10, could do with an up to date one, 2015/2016 but they are very expensive from Citroen, Ebay could be a good idea, any advice please.
  2. I have now had my C5 Mk3 for nearly 3 months, and I am very pleased with it. Down side-I got used to the position of the handbrake and the steel springs , no Hydro bits, but you get used to it very quickly, because its a Saloon and not a Hatch the boot is a bit smaller. Up side- There are good bits like the extra front lights at night when you turn the steering wheel, they light up the side of the road, the rear mirror goes dark when someone is behind you with there lights on(You don't have to move the mirror), Satnav is very good, the gearbox is very good, and best of all is the MPG, I picked up a caravan 70 miles from home and got 32mpg+, and on a mid to long run I got 55-70 mpg, 70 down to 60 when I hit town. It looks good too, and the best part was it was over for £9 grand for a car that was 3.5 years old with only 20,000miles(ex Motability car) on the clock with a major service just done.
  3. I have a 2010 60 registration VTR+NAV 160 Bhp, 1)Does anyone know the Torque setting for the Wheel nuts and the lock nuts, cant find it in the Handbook. 2)Anyone know about the SD Card for the Satnav?
  4. Now got a 2010 60 registered VTR+ NAV, and the book says 20k, but I will get Oil&Filter Changed at 10k to keep the engine sweet.
  5. Does anyone drive a Mk3 with steel struts suspension and not the Hydro type suspension, to tow a Caravan with it, I am considering getting the Mk3 VTR or VTR+, not the top of the range as there is not many around used. Or how does the ride feel if you don't tow?????.
  6. My 2005(54 reg) servicing book says 25k for normal and 20k for severe conditions, though I always do an interim oil and filter change at 6-10,000miles, keeps the engine sweet.
  7. Can anyone tell me what is the servicing interval for a C5 Mk3 2ltr. VTR for normal and severe conditions, the Mk2 is 25,000 miles/20,000miles?.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't want the exclusive unless I have too. All the VTRs have Springs so I am told, there must be someone who has driven the Mk3 with springs and not Spheres. Thanks
  9. My original post. Does anyone have any experience of towing with C5 Mk3 with Spring suspension and non Hydro type suspension, Tanks
  10. HI I was talking only about C5 Mk3 non Hydra type Saloons. I also had the same probs. with Focus Estate and Astra Estate, but as you see I am now a Citroen fan, hence that's where my interest now lies.
  11. I Have had a BX, C5 2.2ltr Mk1, C5 2ltr Mk 2, Saloons, all with the Hydrolastyic Suspension, all worked very well for towing a Caravan. I am thinking of buying next year a C5 Mk3, but all but the top of the range do not use this type of suspension, does anyone have any experience of non Hydro Suspension for towing. Many Thanks.
  12. I have had 2xC5's, the first a Mk 1 2.2 SX from 60K to 110K miles, and the one now is a Mk2 2Ltr VTR bought at 24K now 51K, both I drive the same. Keep the RPM below/around 2.000rpm, out on the normal roads engage Cruse at 50mph, and the Motorway 60-65mph,thats just over 2K rpm, I always got 50+mph solo. I found that dropping the motoway speed from 70 to 60 gets over 50mph somtimes high 50's, this is always good using Cruse control except on town. Hope that helps.
  13. Can't help with the 1.8, assume thats a Petrol, guess if you want economy you should have not got a Petrol. I have had a 2001 Mk 1 2.2Diesel SX and I now have a 2005 Mk 2 2.0 Diesel VTR, and from both I got on a journey 50+mpg, 30+mpg towing 1200Kg Caravan. Naturaly less solo in town, and running around. I am not a boy racer, so not heavy footed. What does the local Citreon dealer say, or Refer back to the seller and ask.
  14. I have had 2xC5's, Do you have a TRIP Button on the centre consol, on mine I can get Radio/trip or temp by pressing one of the buttons, then the right stalk shows the mpg etc. :(
  15. I am on my 3rd Citroen, I had a BX 1.9 TRS, I then had a C5 Mk1 2.2 which had to be servived every 12,000, I now have a C5 2.0 Mk2 the main service is every 20,000, though I do an interum Oil and filter change every 10,000, for the small cost it perlongs the life of the Engine. :(
