I don't pay much attention to my 1999 xantia estate and then one night I noticed that oncoming traffic kept flashing their lights at me because my nose was up in the air. When I started it the next morning the front came up followed by the back and then the back slowly dropped. A local garage fitted a new part but when I went to fetch it they told me that I would need to oporate the lever that lifts the whole suspension right up and then put the lever back to the correct position when the body would drop to the normal running position. If I wanted them to go further and get the car suspension oporating as it should it would cost a lot more. If I leave the suspension as it is when I start the car up in the morning is it safe to run it?

I take the point about it not being the appropriate batery for caravanning and about the special charger. I will try to find one. Many thanks.

I have been given a nearly new battery from a vehicle that had its engine destroyed as a result of its cam belt failing so which is a god nudge to check one's cam belt. It may come in usefull to take camping to run lighting. So, could anyone tell me how often should a battery be charged to keep it in good order?

I have bought a 1999 Citroen Xantia and the advertisment said, "Full service history". However, there was no record of the cambelt being changed on the service history. When I aksed for a receipt the vendor sent me a copy of a garage headed notepaper saying that it had been changed last year but if thats the case I would have thought that it would have been noted in the service history. If I have the cambelt changed is it possible to have it checked to ascertain whether it is the original one or not?

Does anyone have any sugestions for an inexpensive windscreen insurance?

The Map Reading Lights work on my 1999 Xantia but neither of the courtesy lights do and I can't work out where the switches are. Any sugestions would be very much appreciated.
