  1. Yay - but is it likely to be Glycol coolant or OAT? Spare LHM went in the diesel tank!
  2. Thanks richard - been back again and they still deny their existance - mind you they are running on low staff, so will try another dealership.
  3. I have had Hydropneumatic Cits for a while before buying the Blingo, and fluids for brakes and PAS ets was never a big problem - sadly i have no handbook with my Bling so I could do with knowing what to get in as spare fluids - I will continue to use the rather large supply of Total Quartz semi synth 10/40 oil for the engine and my Puraflux filters, but what should I get for: Antifreeze PAS fluid Brake Fluid Its a 09/2003 2.0HDi Ta.
  4. The XTR (NONE MODUTOP) has roof rails that run north to south, I have a Forte. From what I can see of the fittings there is no reason why they would not fit the Forte so it would make fitting / removing my roof box a whole lot easier. So I went to Citroen and asked them... Oh no we dont do them says Citroen. But you can have some crappy east to west roof bars for £100 - errrrm, no thanks. Anyone fitted roof rails to their Bling?
  5. Its possible your oil level is a bit low? I know my old ZX used to do someting similar on right hand bends when it was geting low.
  6. A fairly comprehensive description of how to tackle them is here - its not that daunting really.
  7. Following a discussion on FCF, the advice being cut the multiplex wires and tape them off :( I think I shall just fit a Citroen CD head unit and try and find a multichanger to fit too - and go through the painfull job of converting all my MP3 Cd's to WAV <_<
  8. Not tackled Citroen yet - though I was going to about the cost / fitting of a CD changer. Money - up to about £50 for 2 speakers really (for something that wont fart!)
  9. Having discovered (the hard way) that the Sony X-Plod Stereo wont work in the Multiplexed Blingo without the central locking turning itself off... I have (for now) refitted the tape player pending either the fitment of a multichanger or an in dash Citroen CD player - anyway, I have also discovered the OE door speakers are crap and get all farty at more than 17 on the volume control - as I am deaf (well hard of hearing - yes I do have a hearing aid - believe me its like listening to Bon Jovi on short wave) I often have the stereo cranked up. Anyone got any suggestions for drop in replacements? (something decent that wont fart and distort when the stereo gets turned up?
  10. Just to add to Dickie's comments - go for a decent make of LHM+ such as Total as some are decidedly yellow looking from the start and dont seem to last as well as the Total stuff. For the difference in price it isnt worth scrimping a few pence. Would be worth doing a full change though and washing the tank & filters out in petrol. The hardest bit of a LHM change is priming the pump afterwards. Xantias do tend to be a bit easier than BX's though possibly due to the location of the pump. Bleeding the brakes, steerring and hydropneumatics is a doddle and afterwards you will be surprised at the difference in your Xants handling (and stopping). You will also find that if you have suffered with the "pulsating pedal" problem, a LHM change and bleed through usually cures it.
  11. Cheers - will look for an adaptor, did try one once with the Xantia, but it never worked the steering controls and I just used them as basic "machine gun" buttons to anhialate traffic wardens and speed cameras ;)
  12. I plan to fit my Sony MP3 CD head unit in place of the standard Citroen ICE tape player in the Blingo Multispace (2003 HDi). The car uses steering controls and the RDS uses the dash display to display the radio ststion. Now obviously I wont be able to use the dash diplay or steering controls (not really an issue as I lived without them when it was fitted in the Xantia) - But I am concerned that the removal of the radio and fitting of the Sony item will cause some problems with the rest of the cars electrical gubbinery - even though the handbook says that it used standard ISO connectors and shows a diagram of a Bling sans stereo. Anyone got any experience of upgrading the ICE and any problems as a result?
  13. Just bought myself a Bling Multipsace Forte (2003) HDi from work for £3K - Its to replace my Xantia as family haulabout as the Xant only has 2 proper seatbelts in the back and shortly as my clan will be expanding we will need 3! Hoping to get Cruise control fitted up in the near future and needs a couple of jobs doing to it (towbar ready to be fitted up), this isnt my first Citroen so I am used to some of their foibles... Currently on the fleet is my HDi Xantia (2000), my 1.9 TXD BX (1991) and of course the Bling, i have had a couple of BX's, AX, and a couple of ZX's (all diesel). Anyway - hope I can be of use to people in the future (and I expect I will be asking some numpty Q's about the Bling as time goes on). Cheers - Marty. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/jim_reaper/Blingoh/20102006047.jpg
