Hello there, I am a newbie so please be nice! I have a 2002 C3 1.1. Have recently had coil pack replaced as the car stopped dead and the engine light was flashing...anyway went to an independent garage and they told me that the engine light would go off in a few days following replacement of the coil pack. Well it did go off, but came on again a few days later, ,and has been on and off intermittently since then (about 6 weeks ago) I rang the garage who said that there may be a problem with the fuel and asked me if I bought my fuel in Tesco!!! He said if I start using "proper" petrol, the old petrol should flush out. Well I have filled up a few times on BP petrol and the light is still coming on, the car is running fine - well possibly higher comsumption of petrol than usual, but that may be my imagination! Hubby brought car back up to the garage and they have said I can either let it go for a while and see if it goes off itself, or I can bring the car up and they can strip it down. They have already put the car onto a diagnostics computer and it can't find anything wrong. Am I being fobbed off here? I have looked through the theads and have seen similiar problems but these all refer to the fuel injectors, I have not been told that there is a problem specifically with this? If they strip the car down I don't trust them not to find all sorts of other problems that need rectified. If anyone can give any advice it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
