Does anyone know of a company in the north east who reconditions beam axels ?

thanks i now know it is the beam axel thats gone on mine! i've split it and the shafts are worn beond repair!

drain the fuel filter and replace the element also open the tank filler and blow compressed air down the fuel lines "muck" in the lines or filter could cause this! next step check the sensers and use a obdII reader to watch whats happening while you run it!!

the ream axle can be adjusted also the bearingd goes ! does the wheel rise verticaly or does it touch the inside of the wheel arch when its under load?

Hi Martin you should put this in its own post the hdi owner will be looking at it where it is the petrol owners may not read it! I'd say you need to change anything with a pully that is run by the belt ! I used a continenlal (contibelt) yesterday when I changed mine! my only advise would be to mark the belt and sprockets with tipex before you remove them and trasfer the marks to the new belt, his gives you a check that you have done it right! and after you have changed it turn the engine half a dozen times buy hand to make sure you fell confident all is well before starting the engine! If you get it wrong your looking at the potential of bent valves and damaded head/pistons part from here europarts are always good quality and well priced? Tom

wheel are straight when car is off the ground and i cant feel any play in the bearings or bushes , i dont know much about power steering !

could anyone tell me the quantity and grade of oil to put in the gear box and also where to fill it from. although i will be putting slick 50 in!

i change cam belts as soon as i get a car (just in case) then every 45k, cheap compaired to engine rebuild if it snaps!

the streering wheel rocks back and forth by a couple of inches as i turn ! its like driving a race car fast eg feels like im correcting overstear/understeary all the time altough it does not need drver input to do this the wheel does in on its ovn any thoughts !
