  1. I think I paid about £78, I know I asked for discount and the dealer gave me some. If you don't ask, you don't get!
  2. Yes, I put a container full (4.5 litres) in. I had no warning asking me to top up, but I thought I might as well top up before the warning and save having to pay to get the computer reset. The job was a doddle, the kit from Citroen comes with all the bits you need to top it up. You don't need to remove the rear wheel, I just lifted the suspension and crawled underneath.
  3. Just to report that since washing the particulate filter out, I have had no problems with the car or warning messages. It may be worth a look at the following http://www.eminox.com/downloads/Eminox%20CRT%20Manual.pdf as it is about particulate filters in general and includes how they are cleaned. They recommend compressed air and extraction to clean the ash from them but warn about washing with high pressure water as this can compact the ash. It's worth browsing the document as it gives some info on a particulate filter which is similair to the one fitted to the Citroen.
  4. Bought the brand new Citroen removeable towing bracket off eBay for £45 and the new Citroen dual wiring kit for £20, so hopefully for £65 I can get the job done. Just hope the car is ok towing, it's the auto 2.2 HDI and it's a heavy van. I know this has a lower towing weight than other models apparantly Citroen had no where to fit a larger oil cooler for the auto box!!
  5. Thanks kfk, I take your comments on board. After washing the filter there was a considerable amount (maybe more than 1 litre) of "ash" that had been washed out of the filter, this I suspect, was one of the main causes of the filter blocking up. There did not appear to be any evidence of the Eolys fluid causing any blocking, but I could only see the two filter ends and obviously not inside the actual filter element. Just one question that comes to mind, if Citroen do send these filters away to have them cleaned, then it must be a physical process to remove the "ash". Subjecting the elements to high temperatures I don't think will remove the "ash". The "ash" is the result of the soot particles and presumably some of the fluid being burnt. Anyway, time will tell as to the general success rate. I know the author of the original posting, informing of the washing method, had run his vehicle for several months without problems whereas before he was being subject to all sorts of warnings and limited revs.
  6. I fiited the Citroen towbar without removing the bumper, however, the Citroen wiring kit requires the removal of the bumper to allow the wiring to be positioned and to gain access to the lights. It appears that the recommended supply for the 12S socket comes direct from the battery, which is not a problem, did you guys find it easy enough to route the 12v cable through the bulkhead? Incidentally the wiring kit obtained is a direct connection to the existing lighting and doesn't include any 6 or 7 way relays usually used for multiplex wiring, only the standard flasher relay. Do I therefore assume that the rear of the 2002 C5 is not multiplex wiring??
  7. I took the advice of another posting on this forum and having experienced the "clean diesel filter as soon as possible", I removed the filter form the exhaust and washed it out with a high pressure washer. The car now responds faster, returns a better mpg and the warning has not made a re-appearance. Forget forced regeneration by dealers or by driving at high revs for 15 mins etc, the filter becomes blocked with particles and residue that will not be removed by getting the filter hot. These particles are physically blocking the filter and can be washed out using the jet washer. This cleans the filter to, I guess, an almost new condition. The filter is eaily removed, and it cost nothing to wash it out. So, if you are experiencing the dreaded warning, jet wash the filter!
  8. Hi Des, Thanks, your answer solved the problem, I now have 12v at both sockets. I also need to wire the towbar electrics. I have a Citroen kit and need to remove the bumper. Have you removed the bumper and if so, how do you remove it? Dave
  9. I have a 2002 2.2 HDi Exclusive Estate and I have a problem in that the front and rear accessory socket only gives 3.6 volts regardless of whether the car is running or not. The seperate cigarette lighter socket gives a full 12 + volts when the ignition is on. I have checked the fuse and that appears to be intact. All other electrical items work fine. I was hoping to pick up a 12 volt supply from the rear accessory socket to enable me to wire in a tow bar with full electrics, but 3.6 volts is of no use! Can anyone suggest why I'm only getting this reduced voltage?
