I had a similar problem with a BX16V and with my current Xantia TurboTC. I bought an aftermarket control unit and two remote fobs for about one eighth the price quoted by Citroen for just a key incorporating the remote. The brand available here in Australia was Warlock and an easy fit in the case of those two cars as the unit is just back from the interior mirror.
