  1. Looks like I have been a bit of a fool. The Manual I have is up to S reg and it is a W Reg (it came with the car.) looking at it it didnt need cutting at all. Going to try and get some hose connectors to fit is and use JB weld to fit it. D'oh.
  2. I decided to change my fuel filter today and after 3 hours have finally admitted defeat. It is a Xantia W Reg 1.8 16v Petrol. Going by the Haynes it says that if the connection are plastic crimped on then cut them off and renew with worm drive connectors (Jubilee clips). So that is what I did, So I get the filter off ok but I cant seem to get a good seal to get it connected back. The fuel lines are hard plastic so I have a connector going from them into some flexible fuel hose which then attaches to the filter. All connected to jubilee clips. Not matter what I do I can't seem to get them tight enough or a good enough seal. Any advice? Driving me slowly mad.
  3. The codes I was given are different and up until two days ago worked, so I can assume that is the one still stored. It is an L reg petrol model. When the car is off, no lights are showing. When I turn it on both green and red show. if I then turn the keys off the green light stays illuminated. Is this right ? The car is driving me mad  Can deal with mechanical stuff but electric gizmos are beyond me.
  4. Hi I have bought a Xantia a week ago for £100. Everything was fine aside from indicator stalk was knackered, the PO had removed all the bulbs and the fluids needed topping up. We are going to use it for a charity rally in August to Prague. I have had it sitting for a week and went to start it today but had a flat battery. I charged and tried to start it now but I think that the imobilser wont turn off. I have tried the code that the PO gave me (which worked up until now) plus another code written on front of handbook but no luck. Is there a factory code it resets to under the circumstances ? Or do I need to talk to Citroen? Cheers Will
