... along with some really nasty reliability issues... :o Hopefully the new ones are better though...

Standard Saxo Head Unit Output
n_olympios replied to Bucklejuice's topic in Questions about the Citroen Saxo
Not a chance for 15 Watts per channel, let alone 35W! :) These units (in general, not only those in Citroens) usually output around 4*7-8Watts RMS @ 4Ohm. This is what you should always be looking for in a unit or amp. The "35W" quote from Citroen is probably the MAX rating, which means nothing really. The latter is also for power ratings on speakers. You're much more likely to damage a speaker when using too little power, than you are when using too much power. I can explain why if you want me to. <_< -
Eeer, ok. First of all, it'd be good if you spelt my name properly. Secondly, there's no need to be picky, we're here to help. Then again, I do sometimes make the mistake to forget that my sense of humour might be different to yours (in general). Last but most certainly not least, I did read your post, apparently you did not understand mine though. Thus I will spell it out for you: Why don't you put cable ties ALL OVER THE DAMN THING????? AKA not only 3 per trim. :) Be cool. B)
-
I don't think you can... :)
-
Well, the obvious solution would be to replace your wheels with alloy ones. :) But other than that, I've not heard of a similar case... Why don't you just put cable ties all over the damn thing?

LOL, I can imagine... Even stranger than when you first drive a car with ABS brakes and feel the pedal vibrating.

I think there's something you're missing here. The controls on the steering are not/could not be hardware controlled. Things like the trip computer settings, sat nav, wind-screen wipers etc are software controlled anyway. The multiplex system just gathers these commands and passes them through a main CPU to minimise wire lengths in the car (miles are used in each car anyway). Traction control and Sensodrive have nothing to do with the Multiplex system. What they do is basically the same in every car they are installed. Sure, their names are different, ESP, ASP, TCS, etc, but their function is the same. Sensodrive on the other hand has purely to do with the semi-auto gearbox (in fact, it IS it). On the other hand, although I too do not agree with such systems "interfering" with the car, it's what (in most occasions) helps you stay on the road when normally you wouldn't stand a chance. There are ways to make these systems discrete and fully-functional, without stealing all the driving pleasure from the driver. Whether the manufacturers decide to do it or not, it's mostly a matter of marketing decisions. Unfortunately. BTW, have you driven a VAG car with electronic accelerator? It's much worse than the C2-C3's. :D
-
The C4 also knows when you drift off the lane. You can control virtually everything the car has from the steering hub, bar the climate control. When you get over the shock it's a very useful and safe feature, not just a gimmick. :D

The Czech factory could in fact show more than a thing or two to Audi and Vw (and they've been trying to reach the same level of build quality for years, lol) I have faith in PSA though, things will change. In fact, from what I've read, the C4 is on a much higher quality level than the Xsara, and this means a lot to me (as my Xsara has been proven faultless.) :D

Citroen C5 2.0 Exclusive w/sunroof, bought in August 2001 for 30.000 euros (18.750 pounds in today's values) Max selling price we achieved 2 months ago was 15.000 euros, exactly half the purchase price (9.375 pounds). Did we sell it? Hell no. It would be idiotic to do so.

Hi John, I don't live in Crete, I live in Athens but I'd be happy to gather info for you. Not so sure how you'll manage to learn greek though (it has been said that it's difficult, I didn't find any real difficulty in learning how to speak though  :D ) My name's Nick and my email address is n_REMOVEolympios @ gmail.com (you can never be too careful)
-
I'm glad you like Crete, you will be more than welcome here. Feel free to ask me anything you want about Greece. Use my email if you want a quick answer (I don't come in here very often, sorry).

However, it has been known in several occasions that the actual octanes are far less. For example, the 98oct gas is about 94 and the 95 one is somewhere near 92. Better safe than sorry.

É'm not sure this is entirely correct. True, the multiplex wiring has produced several problems in the Citroens (and Pugs), but it's far worse in the Fiats nowadays, as well most other brands now introducing similar systems in their cars. Try to find a Stilo owner, they'll tell you it's far worse than what you guys have been through.

I must have understood something incorrectly here or I'm just not familiar with the terms... The snow warning is shown when the outside temperature is below 3 degrees C, or am I wrong? I don't see how this is related to the car itself. It just warns you to be more careful on driving, that's all. Please correct me if I'm missing something. :(

The weight has nothing to do with rpm/speed relation. This has to do with the gearbox and how "short" the gears are. Someone more technically minded will explain it better than me, I'm not that keen on english terminology on the matter. :(

Main-beam Headlight Indicator On Dash
n_olympios replied to Richard Fairhurst's topic in Pluriel - Technical
The only way to make sure your tank is filled is wait until the foam has settled and keep adding gas until you see it come up on the pipe. Of course you have to do it by yourself, the gas station employees normally end up spilling half the gas out of the tank and on your rear wing and wheel. :( -
If it had a VW badge it would be 1.5 times more expensive and not as reliable (to say the least). :(
