  1. The CD players earth wire was disconnected as part of a recall on early cars. This was a safety measure in case any water got into the electrics and allowed the system to short and start a fire. The result is when you turn off the ignition and remove power to the cd it forgets the last track being played.
  2. You should be able to alter the angle of the seat back as this is how people get to the rear seats. If I remember it is the lever on the side of the seat back. Some early cars had major issues with the seat backs not locking after they had been adjusted.
  3. I had an 03 Pluriel. It leaked from the roof arches, from the bottom of the door sills and through the rear screen. Roof arch seals were replaced and it still leaked. They were about to change the roof cassette when I traded it in as I did not want to carry a bucket in my boot all the time. Yes it is a versatile car but the rear seats are not for adults on trips lasting more than 30 mins. In pick-up truck mode you need to attach a visible number plate to the rear to remain road legal. It is the car with a little curl, when it is good it is very very good and when it is bad, it is horrid.
  4. You have to go through everything in the chain that makes them work, switches, fuses, motors as it is both sides I would start with anything that is common to both like a fuse.
  5. If the parts are only £600 I would buy them and fit them myself saving £1,400 or find an independent garage to quote on fitting. As your car is now well out of warranty you won't get too much help from Citroen. If your boot leak is because of the roof cassette (as mine was) then you are looking at £300 for a new roof cassette. You could try vaseline on the rubber seals where they meet to see if it makes them more water tight but in my experience if you have a leaky Pluriel then you are one of the unlucky ones and are best getting shot of it. What car says the car is worth between £4k and £6k, AutoTrader has them around £5k but that means the dealer has paid at least £1k less than that. Your problem is getting rid of it with all the leaks, even if it was valued at £4k it needs at least £600 worth of parts to put right. Ian (Traded in leaky Pluriel for a C4)
  6. You could try it with a different amount of accelerator applied as the sensodrive will be working things out based upon engine revs, position of the pedals, traction of the wheels, load on the engine amongst other things. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  7. What about putting it into reverse then back into 1st. On the C4 putting the car into reverse silences the warning. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  8. Clutch sensor replacement and software update are the know fixes for this fault. You should find some other posts on the subject in the C4 section of the forum. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  9. And I remember having to wade through a ream of line printer reports and manually separate and distribute them every morning. Then get them sent off to be microfiched for archiving. Things a child born after 2005 will probably only learn about in history lessons... VHS video Records, cassettes, 8-track, reel to reel tape Cameras with film (moving or still) and chemical film processing TV's and displays with CRT's in them Coal mining Non hybrid powered cars Cheques Smoking Analogue TV and Radio broadcasts Things don't half change quickly these days, but then again think of the changes a 70 year will have lived through. Wow, now I really do feel old Ian Black 55 VTR+
  10. I am not sure how you can turn the control the wrong way. If the roof is shut when you start then the control only turns in one direction (unless you really force it). The same is true when the roof is fully open. If you turn the control step by step does it the roof move at each step? When you get to the last step (holding the switch in) does the roof move over the rear windscreeen? When closing the roof does it move at every switch step? It may be as you suggest that the computer controlling the roof switch just needs resetting, in any case I would take it to a Citroen dealer to look at as they will be the only people able to sort the computer out properly. 11. That may be the case but my contract is with Blackcircles, they are who I pay my money to and it is their T's & C's that I sign up to. Many copmanies sub-contract work if I send a parcel using DHL it may be finally delivered by Royal Mail but My contract is with DHL and if I have any problems they are who I go back to. Blackcircles should be vetting all of their sub-contractors and removing those who do not meet the companies standards. Just as an aside do the front tyre pressures vary with engines (I know the diesels are heavier at the front) or is is just the number of doors? Ian Black 55 VTR+
  12. My door sticker says 2.4 front and 2.1 rear or 2.4 front and 2.7 rear loaded Is yours a 3 or 5 door or have Citroen changed their minds? Ian Black 55 VTR+
  13. The sensor is in the middle of the windscreen near the top. For a full explaination of how they work see these websites. http://www.jdpower.com/articles/article.aspx?ID=212 http://auto.howstuffworks.com/wiper4.htm Ian Black 55 VTR+
  14. At the time it was launched this quote was published by http://www.wardsauto.com/ar/auto_engineers_meet_citroen It depends on your countries climate and if you have a garage. If you live in Spain (where the car is built) then you can probably trust the weather not to change on you whilst you are out sans roof bars. There are many things about the Pluriel which make it a car you can live with or just too quirky. The flat bed truck option which makes the car illegal on the road as with the boot down the rear number plate is not visible; the hit and miss protection from the elements depending upon if your particular car is full of leaks or not; the way they neglect to mention how to reset the trip computer in the owners handbook; the fact you can set the alarm off by unlocking another Pluriel parked close by. I guess these are the kind of things that make it a future classic. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  15. I have just replaced my tryes after 28.5k miles but the brake pads are still the originals. At the last service (25k) the garage said they did not need changing. I think there is a worn brake pad warning, can't remember off hand what it is without looking in the handbook. Ian Black 55 VTR+
