  1. Hi Just looking at the diagram on Citreon service am i right in thinking that the part number if i need to replace the air flow meter is 1920AG? which is this one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C5-DC-2001-2004-2-0-2-2-HDi-HATCHBACK-ESTATE-AIR-MASS-FLOW-METER-MAF-/251173261648?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a7b17d150
  2. Was also considering as i have just got the car and i know that the previous owner has only run it on supermarket fuel - whether to try 1st getting some spray EGR cleaner for the air intake?
  3. Car is C5 2.2 Diesel Mk1 2004 Estate VF7DE4HXG76521860
  4. as per other thread got a sealey 8800 and it works fine, scanned the codes and got 3 P1352 p0402 P0400 the bottom 2 relate to EGR flow and EGR flow excessive the P1352 doesn't seem to be in the book? Cleared the faults and as the car was 1/4 full and has been run on supermarket fuel and i suspected the cause maybe this I drove the car to a BP station and filled up with ultimate, no problem at all. Drove approx 100 miles still no problem, then left parked up for 2 hours started up and the same fault codes came back. The car drives really well, pulls better than other cars ive had and accelerates brilliantly, no judder or anything. Any ideas please. Im going on a 300 mile trip tomorrow so hopefully the car will be ok
  5. Ok its now sorted, 1st sold the memoscan to a guy who had a mondeo i insisted in testing it on his car just in case it was faulty and it worked ok on the mondeo, one interesting thing he told me about his car and the reason for wanting it was that his engine light came on whenever he filled up with Tesco, asda, morrisons or sainsburys but when filling up with BP or Esso the light didn't come on and the fault showed up as an EGR fault - interesting!!! I bought a sealey 8800 from amazon for £34.75 yesterday and it arrived today, plugged it in and it read the codes straight away and i cleared the codes job done 2 minutes!!!
  6. according to the citroen data mine is fitted with an EOBD so it should have worked but am aware that the stated dates for compatibility is late 2004 and mine is 30/09/2004 so its pretty near, i understand that the lexia will definatly work but can't afford one of those but will look at a maxiscan
  7. Thanks have printed out the characteristics, loads of info and it tells the the obd is eobd so that reader should have worked!!
  8. bought a cheap memoscan on ebay to turn off the engine management light and run a diagnostic test, plugged it in and it lit up went through trying to get the codes then got an error "link error" tried a few times and followed the details but still the same, its a late 2004 so should work, got back to the seller and he said did i check on the emissions plate to see if it said OBDII but I couldn't find it. It's only compatible with 2004 on diesels he said - so tried it on my other car which is a xara picasso 2005 - still the same error. He now says there has been incompatibility reported on citroens before. Is he feeding me bull and has anyone got these going on here. He suggests using a diagbox now - im not a garage so wont be buying one!!! Wonder if there is anyone in North Cumbria who could assist please?
  9. Thanks have done that and got the undertray part number, for some reason the part number for the wheel arch liner isn't shown, also tried to find out if the car was obd compliant but no luck there but thanks its worth joining just for that 1 part
  10. that sounds feasable I bet the previous owner did the same, have emailed a couple of scappers to see if i can get the liner first then will get hold of the undertray
  11. Have bought a C5 2004 hdi mk1 estate and i knew it would need a bit of money spent on it as i paid very little, looking on this forum i have had lots of answers but not sure on this one. The undertray is missing completely and not sure if its one part, if its one part it must be pretty big as i guess it clips to the drivers side and passenger side inner wheel arch liner. The drivers side wheel arch liner is torn at the bottom so you can see daylight when looking in the wing at the bottom but it seems to be well attached other wise. I have found a few under trays that match the car on ebay but am not sure whether its just a poor photo cropped to fit ebay or whether there is more than 1 part as per here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200624015081&fromMakeTrack=true One main question is do they constantly come off and does it do any harm just not bothering with one - am not a high speed driver and will mainly use my car for towing.
  12. no i never thought of asking but am going to take the car when the insurance kicks in, have also emailed another company and asked them the price plus do they need the car in, my wife did make a valid point yesterday and wondered if they wanted to sync the key with the car but not sure whether this is done on the mk1
  13. Have just got a C5 2004 (Mk1) estate diesel and it only came with 1 key. Fine, i thought there is a place that does the garage keys - (one without the blip) a few miles from me. I am at the moment trying to sell my 05 Picasso which ive put on ebay and as i have a full tank of diesel and the insurance change does not take place till next weekend, my plan was just to use the picasso till then plus im legal driving it to show potential buyers the car etc. So took the key to my local place (keyishoes) and yep no problem can supply the garage key and program it £60, ok I'll have one - "need to have your car here sir!!" my question is why does he need to have the car because when i bought the picasso I had a key cut and programmed (same type - garage keys) without the car being there, in fact it would have been impossible to take the car that time as the supplier was in the middle of a shopping precinct.
  14. Just looking at a C5 estate 2004 registered 30/9/2004 car is 2179 cc 169b/km according to DVLA its an Exclusive HDi and 6 speed - the front has the 1 silver bar and chevron, which i thought was pre facelift am wanting to buy a tow bar for it and they are listed 2001-2004 OR 2004-2008 so am confused which model it is here is a link with the picture, can someone tell me which model this is please? I didn't think the 6 speed came in until mk2 http://g4jnw.weebly.com/c5.html
