  1. Hi, I posted this last year, but maybe you haven't seen this. "Hi, Although my name is "C5 novice" I actually still drive a 2001 XSARA 2.0 HDI too. (I was thinking of getting a C5 - still a dream though). I have also had similar problems with starting as you described. It seems as if there is no fuel. I think that's because the fuel pump on top of the tank does not get the signal to pump fuel to the engine. I have had it at the dealer's 4 times, twice there was a broken wire, but the last two times it had to do with the brown relay (under the bonnet near the windscreen roughly in the middle). It seemed that if it was disconnected (pull out the red clasp and push it back in again) after a problem it reset itsself and works fine again. I don't understand why or how this happpens. Perhaps this might help someone who has the same problem." Now this problem doesn't seem to happen as I tend to put the key in the ignition and wait til the whirring noise of the fuel pump stops and the fuel gauge on the dash gets to its highest point. Then I start the engine and this has worked no problem for over a month now. Hope this helps. ATB, Peter
  2. Hi, Car wouldn't start again this morning...AARGHH!! However, I took the brown relay mentioned above out and stuck it back in and it worked again!! Don't know why, but it's working. Maybe this will work for others too! All the best! Peter

  4. I haven't heard from anyone yet, but did see in the Yellow Pages that there is a citroen approved specialist in Bushmills, which is a bit out of the way for me and you. There are still the standard authorised dealers, but they are a bit too expensive for my liking.
  5. Hi, I have been thinking of getting a 2002 C5 3.0 V6 Exclusive SE, which seems to be obtainable at an okay price after some haggling. As this is a fairly complex car (suspension mainly) I'd be a bit hesitant to buy it if there would not be a good independent Citroen specialist nearby. Dealers are sometimes not so bad, but charge you often and arm and leg for average service. Does anyone know of any good mechanics near Belfast/Lisburn who would be able to give this fine automobile the required TLC?
  6. Hi, I am considering buying a second hand 2002 C5 hatchback 3.0 V6 Automatic Exclusive SE which has very low milage, dealer warranty. They seem to be fairly unpopular, does anyone have anything good to say about them...? Peter
