Yep just a 30A fuse! Seems the fuse controls all the interior lights for the glove box and spot lights also.

Hi All, I'm hoping this is an easy fix for a change! Tried to plug my lads Nintendo DS charger into the power outlet, I heard a faint snap/crack sound, now there is no power in the lighter or the power outlet? I have tried using the cigarette lighter but it does not heat up and non of the other chargers for mobile, satnav etc. work now either. As it is far to dark to start messing with it now I was hoping someone could point me in the correct direction when I take a look this weekend? I guess the fuse box would be the starting point? The car is a VTR+ 5 door, 55 model Thanks

Good news for a change! The drain from the Air-Con had become detached somewhere behind the dash so they reconnected it for £42. Just need to dry out the carpets now!

WOW thanks for that Paul, it has gone into Evans this morning as I'm hoping its the original fault again (see above) and the guarantee is still valid on the repair. I have a funny feeling that they won't admit to it being their repair that is a fault! I will try your recommendations when I get the car back if it is not fixed. Thanks again.

Not AGAIN!!!! Just been out cleaning the car and the drivers carpet is soaking AGAIN!! The "repair" they didn't obviously didn't work and has eventually leaked enough into the carpet for it to be visable. The warranty has now expired does anyone know if I can claim against a bad repair that was done in Sept 2008 it's nearly a year to the date? This does not look good the Evens Halshaw in Sheffield!! Thanks

Where abouts would it drip from to get into the drivers footwell? I searched the interior of the car and the only wet area was the drivers carpet, all surrounding fixtures and fittings where bone dry! Just incase it happens again then I know where/what to look for. Thanks again. :) Fingers crossed that it is all still within the warranty!

LAST MINUTE NEWS ..... They have found a leak!!! It's coming from the heater box? Its been stripped down for 3 days now and they accidently found a leak, they had the heating running, so have orderd a new one on immediate delivery to repair it tomorrow. :D I have no idea what the heater box is and how it could get water into it and then into the car!? :) Phewww at least the found something! Thanks for all the responses and suggestions.

Well they have apparently fixed the Service light error ... something to do with a dodgy break switch faulting the cruise control computer controls? BUT There is no sign of water leakage into the drivers footwell! The A/C is not leaking, they have removed all the soaking carpets and done a water test with the hoses and can see no leaks entering the car!?!? All I can think is that the A/C was blocked and dumped its water into the footwel and then cleared itself before taking it to the garage? Apparently the drain can get clogged sometimes. Fingers crossed it does not do it again.

Thanks for all the replies. It has gone in today for them to have a look at, I will let you know. (Hopefully under warranty) I didn't know you could lift the fitted carpets! :P While it's in the garage I asked them to look at the SERVICE light error, it sometimes comes on while you we are using the cruise control and break! The Service light comes on and beeps and won't allow CC to be used again until the car is turned off! Its already been in to have a software update but that didn't seem to work ... maybe I should of wound the windows down waited a few seconds then wound them back up again to reboot the car! ;) Thanks

Hi, We have just found another "feature" on our C4 VTR+ 55 Model. Last night wor lass came home saying that the drivers footwell was wet. I asks the obvious questions windows closed etc. On examination, the removable foot mat is dripping wet and when I press down on the fitted carpet about 1 to 2mm of water appears in the floor mat screw fixing holes!! ;) The surrounding carpets are bone drive, as are all the passenger areas. No sign of water running down doors, roof etc. Over the last few weeks we have noticed water dripping from the external plastic tray near the drivers rear wheel if we parked on an incline, we put this down to rain water. Anyone got an idea as how the water can get in? Thanks (Wish we had never bought this car) :(

It looks like its another "feature" of the Citroen ... we have started to get it at irregular intervals, mostly when pulling up to roundabouts? We bought the car in Feb 2006 would it still be in warranty?
-
Its booked in for the 9th July 2007 to have new improved brake pads installed  Its all under the warranty so lets hope it works!?!

Just had a phone call from Citroen Head Office ..... They are going to replace the squealing brakes under the warranty!!! :)

Hi All, Wor lass has tried to drive over the highest kerb she could find in Arundel Gate car park Sheffield!! Apparently there was an illegally parked car so she had to take a wide arc to get around it to the down ramp and in the process caught this extra high kerb that protects the columns of the car park ramp. :P The car is now scrapped and dented from the front to the rear wheel, thankfully it didn't touch the doors. I don't know the technical name for this part of the car but it's the bit you can see below the doors when they are closed. Does anyone recommend someone in Sheffield who can repair it? She has £300 excess on the insurance as it is her first car after having company cars for many years, therefore I don't want to get them involved just yet if we can get it done for less! Sods law that she crashes the first car that she owns after all these year!!! Thanks

Hi All, Just an observation. Has anyone had the Automatic Wipers throw a complete wobbler when there is hardly any rain on the windscreen ie max speed and then when it gets to the point where you have to manually do a wipe they still haven't wiped? Wor lass is getting really annoyed with them! HAHAHAHA :( (She is the owner and drives it everyday, I only get to play with it on weekends, I have to use the SuperTram, its not fair!!) :( I have cleaned the windscreen with Autoglym and have not had any rain since so not sure if it has fixed the problem of dirt on the sensor area. Maybe new wipers are in order? See ya.

The way the squealing brakes was described to me by Citroen goes something like this :- The garages used to remove the installed calipers and replace with Bosch make ... Citroen then realised that it was costing lots of cash to do this so have halted that procedure .... Citroen are now working on a cheap and cheerful fix instead of using Bosch. When they come out with a fix is anyones guess! So to sum it up it will be fixed under the warrant sometime in the future! :(

HAHAHAHA LOL This car has had to many "features" for my liking!! :( Just waiting, if they ever phone me, about the squealing brakes and then everything will be rosey!

Thanks Keith, Its always good to know that the garage isn't just fobbing me off with some techno babble that I didn't understand! :( Cheers

Hi All, I have a 55 VTR+ and generally very happy with it. So far I have had the glove box replaced and the air conditioning on the passanger side was always blowing hot all fixed under the warranty! I think it was there fault with the glove box as you have to get to the air con through the glove box and it wasn't broke when I took it in! :( At the moment I am waiting for a replacement to stop the rear brakes squealing, I had Citroen phone me up and they told me that a "fix" was going to be created at some point. Okay back to my original topic:- I can hear a tapping noise which increases and decreases with engine revs coming from in front of the driver while seated within the car. I can't hear it with the bonnet up as other engine noise covers it! :( I asked the garage to look into it while they were fixing the air con and they said something along the lines of "it's a common fault with these new models, it is the petrol balance/release valve which is mounted on the bulkhead in front of the driver causing the noise" That is a rough quote of what they said, it is the closest I can remember. It can only really be heard at traffic lights etc. as road noise etc. drowns it out when moving. Does this sound feasable to anyone? Anyone else with a VTR+ getting this noise? Cheers
