Problem solved, info for others: The tailgate release button wasn't releasing properly, it was stuck half in. Pretty obvious really.

I have a dangerous problem with my 2002 C5 estate. The tailgate opens when you press the remote. It also opens when either front door is opened. The worst part is it sometimes opens when driving. I can't keep anything in the loadspace in case it opens at speed, for obvious reasons. I dont know if it's connected, but it probably is, but the rear nearside door is locked and will not unlock, and the same with the tailgate window. Any ideas please????

My speedo has stopped working (the mileage is still clocking up though). It was suggested that the speedometer transducer needed replacement, so I bought a new one. Despite a search by me, 2 proper mechanics & the parts guy from the main dealer, and a print out of the diagram of where it should be, none of us can find where it goes! I'm relying on satnav to avoid the fines, so any help would be very much appreciated.
