  1. I see finally Haynes have released a manual for the C5. In case like me you did not know! £15.50 on ebay, £20 at Halfords Cheers
  2. Many many thanx. This is excellent and gives me all the details required. While seacrhing around I also found at long last a Haynes manual is available!!
  3. Hi I have a 2002 C5 estate (with air con). My auxillary belt snapped. I have a friend who is a mechanic but would appreciate a diagram of how the belt is fed around the pulleys. By the way the cause was the alternator "free-wheel" pulley siezing and actually dropping off! Most places would want to sell you a complete alternator/pulley. Fortunately I found someone who fitted a brand new free-wheel pulley for £50 (inc). The cheapest alternator I could find was £160 and Citroen wanted £420 plus fitting!!!! Thanks in advance

  5. ============ Thanks for the info. I obtained the Total LDS fluid today. Thanks to randombloke for guidance ofnreservoir level.
  6. ======================= The event happened immediately after going through a "normal" car wash. The boots screen switch housing definitely had water in it. I now believe because the lid had stopped working some months earlier, that the switch was u/s. When the water enetered, it closed the citcuit and opened the window. Unforunately at the same time it effected other electrical items especially the rear wiper. I have had the car inspected by professional auto electrician (not citroen) who could not find any fault. Incidently it is not now possible to communicate with the onboard computer (2 garages have tried including a citroen dealer). Is it a relatively simple job to inspect the BSI and connections. I do not know where to start. I will start to carry out the "window fix" as sent. Many thanks
  7. I had a similar problem after water got into the boot lid switch. This shorted the switch and appears to have damage the management system. Now my central locking does not work properly and the rear wiper operates every time anything electrical is operated within the car!!! The potential cost of the repair means I have just put up with it. Apparently this is not unusual. I hope you have more luck..
  8. Hi May sound a simple question but I do not have a manual. I need to top up the reservoir but cannot see a mark. Also what fluid (brand etc) should I use. Thanks in Advance
  9. Hi Bizarrely I have a very similar fault. My problem started when I went through a car wash. Water entered the boot window switch and shorted it out. From then on the central door locking has not worked properly AND the fault is not consistent. The drivers side rear door lock will not operate at all. I would check the switch for moisture in the rear boot window as a first step. Keep me posted! pS every time a door is operated the rear screen wiper activates!!!!
