  1. I was involved in an accident back in July where another car drove in to the back of my March 2014 Grand Picasso after only 4000 miles on the road. Direct Line organised for my car to go to their preferred repairer and after 3 months, my car was returned to me only for me to find that internal damage to the 7th seat rail and some of the plastic interior had been left untouched. So, the car was sent back to the same repairer for 2 further months and the car was returned to me with a broken boot door button, bumper out of alignment, scratched alloys and scratches to the underside of the vehicle. So, yet again the car was taken away by DL and they used a local garage. They painted up the underside of the vehicle and fitted a new bumper as the DL engineer explained that the reason my bumper was misaligned was because it was warped and had been melted during the baking process by their initial repairer. So 3 weeks later, my car was returned to me and the bumper is in a worse position than before. I can fit my hand between the bumper and boot door, the boot door seal is torn, and the bumper pivots over the new panel work that was initially fitted by the first repairer. My car was hit diagonally across the back of the car and most of the impact focused across the drivers side. My focus has always been on the trueness of the rear of the car and the fact that the bumper cannot be fitted straight does not convince me that it is true. To a passer by, the car looks like new but my car was only 4 months old prior to the accident and now there are several serious flaws in my opinion and this car is to serve me and my family for many more years. DIrect Line keep throwing money at it but never listen to my concerns in my letters and keep missing the problem and introducing new problems (like the torn seal!) I have taken my complaint to the ombudsman but I am guessing they will see in DL's favour and allow them to repair the vehicle once more. Personally I want them to accept their incompetence and replace my vehicle and let us all move on. I have lost 8 months of my life on the phone to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYJBkYOebYA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67-Up9bBoTw http://i61.tinypic.com/t6a2rs.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/1gk66o.jpg The above images show the new lower rear panel that has been fitted (i assume) as there are clear welds that protrude on both left and right sides and it is here that I think the bumper is pivoting on. The seal is also intact. The initial garage gave me a rough idea of what was replaced but it included several panels, cross member, boot door, bumper, rear seat railing (eventually) and some other plastics. The boot door causes me worries as I have already had to have the boot door button replaced because the plastic was shattered. I also find pieces coming away that I have to "pop" back in to place - which doesn't seem fair for a new car? Any views / advice ?
  2. Hi, I was a 2007 Grand Picasso owner and in 2014 I took the plunge on the new Grand and what a treat it is until July that is when someone drove into the back right hand side of me and destroyed the right hand side of the boot and bumper. 12 weeks on since the accident and my insurer and their prefered repairer have just returned the vehicle to me and from the outside the bumper and boot look like new. Inside however, the rear right seat railings which were bent post accident are still bent and it is obvious from the direction that the folding carpet sits, that there is still something not right (as it doesn't sit at right angles to the bumper, it is slightly off). You can also visually see that the boot veers off on the right hand side and is not 100% straight. I see from the job card they have provided me that they have replaced the rear bumper crossmember, but it is the section above and infront of that that I believe to be bent. The repairing garage are going to call me tomorrow but I wanted to try and get my facts right before loosing my car for a further 12 weeks. I have tried to attach an image of the EMP2 chassis but I am having problems with the file attachments. Does anyone know if this area can be replaced or repaired? Given that the car was only 23 weeks old at the time of the accident, I feel pretty hard done by at the moment. 12 weeks after not seeing my car, I had hoped it would be back to me as new :-( http://oi61.tinypic.com/30mr7ft.jpg (hopefully this might work??)
  3. I have a February 56 (2007) C4 Picasso bought as a family car to replace my 3 door C4. In May after 2500 miles, whilst doing 50mph, the car jolted, beeped and then displayed an error message "engine management system failure" - if you blinked you would miss the message. I checked the fault log visable to me and there was nothing there. Nothing else seemed to happen and I checked the manual which gave me no advice, other than if it says STOP you should STOP but it didn't do that so I carried on. So, the next time in my car, I noticed the spanner, to indicate that a service is due. I rang my local garage and arranged for the car to be looked at. On the morning of it being looked at, they rang me at 9:06am to say it was ready for collection. I asked them what was wrong and they said that they didn't know so had just reset the service counter. 1200 miles later on a motorway at 70mph, the same thing happens again. The car jolts, beeps, my cruise turns off and my car starts to slow down until i realise what is happening and start accelerating again. I rang my garage, took it in for them to inspect and they have given me exactly the same reason as before. They don't know why it has happened - it is known as a "Phantom Fault" - great! Does that mean that every now and then whilst I am driving my car it is going to keep doing this and there is no solution? They did tell me though that if it happens again, just bring it in for them to look at. Now what is the point in that? What should I do? Buy a Ford? I have emailed Citroens support but I am not holding out for much. I don't think that it is safe for a car to keep doing this!? Does anyone else have any experiences of this sort of problem? What should I do? Please help!!! Searching the net doesn't return much.
