Hi, Picked up a '97 Xantia 1.9td sx with air con, 1 owner, fsh and 41k miles last saturday, am well happy with it thus far! Thing is 3 times now when ive been driving it the ABS light has come on until ive stoppped the car and turned off the ignition. When i turn the ignition on the ABS light comes on as it should then goes off but then occasionally lights up while driving along. Is this an electriacl niggle or something more sinister? The brakes are very squeaky/squealy but not grinding like metal on metal so i think the pads are ok. Any ideas? I cant find any evidence, either in the service book or the receipts about the cambelt having been changed in its lifetime. Due to the low mileage that maybe ok but ive also heard that cambelts should be changed every 5 years (if mileage is low) as they can perish, does this sounds right? Many Thanks!
