  1. Hi John - humble apologies .... We relocated back to the UK! You're right - a Spanish ITV station would not have been any help!!
  2. Hi there folks .... My beloved Xantia Activa (first registered in 2000) has just failed its MOT! Not only that, but its got one of those horrible red "dangerous" thingys!!! The stated reasons for failure were: 1) NSF pipe union/joint fluid suspension leaking 2) OSR fluid suspension levelling valve leaking ** Dangerous ** 3) NSR (bush badly worn) fluid suspension levelling valve insecure When asked what all that lot meant, and how much would is be likely to cost, resulted in a lot of slopy shoulders and the eventual "book it in ..... and we'll see" The wonderful MOT station cannot look at it for a week, so I'm still wondering!! The question I have to answer is this: It's a ten year old car, with 98000 miles on the clock. I had a brake fluid leak a year ago, and that cost me £200 to get fixed. If this little lot is much more serious - and it sounds to me like it is - then is it worth getting repaired - or do I get rid of it and buy something else?? Your comments appreciated. Thanks!!
  3. Update! OK folks, I've just been out to the car. The noise is coming from the two fans in front of the radiator. The reason that "takes a while to die away after switching the engine off" is that, of course these two fans run on for a while after switching off. Is this what Techbod is referring to as the A/C fan??? Or is this simply a cooling fan with now knackered motor bearings?? (Is it one motor or two??) Advice please!! Yox....
  4. Apologies for my ignorance, but what is the "disgnostic tool"???
  5. Hi Folks, Got a small issue with my Xantia Activa: There is a "singing" noise coming from the engine bay somewhere. This noise does not change with revs, and takes a while to die away after switching the engine off, which leads me to think its electrical(?) ..... Further investigation shows that if I switch the air conditioning off or the heater fan off, the noise dies away (after a while, as above). Anyone got any idea what it could be??? And how to fix it?? On another note and repeating a question from a few years back, does anyone know of a workshop manual for the Activa???? Thanks!!
  6. Hi folks, I have a Xantia Activa (first registered in 2000). I'm looking for a workshop manual, but cannot seem to find one for anything after 1998 ..... Does anyone know if there is a manual available for the later Xantias??? Or even if you can download it from anywhere??
