  1. Sorry to necro an old thread, but I just wanted to say thanks! I've just had my driver's seat out and drilled and bolted both the front pivot arms after they collapsed on me at the weekend. I was looking at second hand seats on ebay and scouring the scrap yards until I saw this thread. Took all of 1 1/2 hours to get it sorted. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks for that RB. :D I dragged my rear lights out yesterday to solve a dodgy brake light, I saw that the bulb was a 21w/5w twin job. I found some other LED bulbs including a 21/5 replacement here: http://www.classic-car-accessories.co.uk/a...volt_bulbs.html and a 360° model that should light up the reflector a bit better here: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-led-3...r-pr-16500.html Seeing as my dodgy brake light was down to the bulb drifting out of the socket, :) I won't be replacing anything just yet, but I'd like to hear views from anyone who has.
  3. I saw these LED bulbs: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/24-LED-WHITE-REVERSE...%3A1|240%3A1318 on eBay. I figured it would be good to replace the filament bulbs at the back of my C5 with LEDs for longer life. Has anyone done it? Are they legal? I see the ad says they're reversing lights, is that because you can't (legally) use them as Rear/Brake/Indicator lights? Most of the rear bulbs seem to be the same type (380/382) so these could replace just about all the bulbs in the rear cluster. TIA
  4. Thanks very much. I saw the blanking caps, but never thought to pop them off to see what was underneath.
  5. Hi all, new here. Staggered to see all the faults I've had on my C5 listed as well known problems (Rear door locks, wobbly driver's seat, tailgate window, etc  ) Anyway, one of my rear brake lights is out and I cannot for the life of me get the lens cluster off to replace it. The car's a 2001 2.0HDi LX Estate. There are no visible screws in the lens itself, no obvious removable panel inside the rear pillar, nothing. I've tried gently popping the whole light cluster out, but didn't want to break anything. There's nothing in the owner's manual as it only refers to the saloon model. Anyone done it before? Or got a Haynes manual that they can take a look in for me? (I need to pick one up soon, many other little jobs need doing.) TIA
  6. Just joined but wanted to reply to this. My offside rear door has been stuck shut for some time (The child locks are on so the outer handle is the only way to open and it ain't working. ) The nearside one is sticky and generally needs a couple of pops on the remote to get it unlocked. Anyway, long story short, it passed an MOT like that, no problems. The garage said that the door had to be secure, but there was no requirement for it to work. HTH
